The McdLT didn't really fail, it just fell victim to the changing times. There was a huge backlash against fast-food restaurants selling burgers in styrofoam packages (environment y'know), and with the McdLT using double the styrofoam, you can see why it ended up dying away.

They're also heavily centered around the idea of "McCafe" where they offer Starbucks-like items and "premium" burgers. I've also noticed McDonald's in Europe tends to be more expensive than in the US (either by direct comparison or when compared to a country's average salary), especially in Germany and Sweden.

@ricky-sanchez4 жыл бұрын
The option didn't fail, it was cancelled by McDonald's because it costs Macdonald's more money, as opposed to just selling the large size cup. Why would anyone buy a large soda when they could just supersize it for a little more? This results in warehouses and stores full of regular large size cups. Same with fries. Also by cutting the supersize option, less fries and soda are being consumed, so they could sell more later on. The supersize was a discount, not an upsell. It was a great promotion, but a bad economic strategy. Once upon a time you could get 6 nuggets for a dollar. Spend 4 dollars, get 24 nuggets. At the same time the 20 piece nugget was 5 dollars. It took macdonalds years to catch on to this. Not because you get 24 nuggets for 4 dollars, but because they had millions of 20 piece nugget boxes laying around.

I LOVED salad shakers. It was such a good way to limit salad dressing use and mix all the ingredients. I now shake all my salads...

I'll never forget when I ordered something and the employee said "ok you want 2 Big Mucks, and a medium fry". I said damn, what all come on the Big Muck. They told me to look at it on the menu lol.

I was a swing manager when I was in highschool (1996-1999) and actually ran one of the shops in a Walmart like they had back in the day. My 2. Big takeaways: McDonald's burgers were basic 80/20 beef, nothing special. The reason they have their distinctive taste was because they liberally seasoned them with a salt and pepper mixture. I still season my beef the same way to this day. #2. The Arch Deluxe was a pain in the ass to make. If you ordered them when they were around you were the problem.

McDo spaghetti was a huge seller when I lived in the Philippines in the early 90s. It was really good too. But they also made really good burgers there too... not like the junk we get here.

Oh, I loved the convenience of the McSoups, quick stop for a work lunch. And you felt like you had a pretty healthy lunch choice. Wish these can back along with my other mentions, Cheese Danish, Raspberry Danish, and the super convenient on the go salads, McShakers.

The Angus Deluxe was great! I regularly went to McDonald's to get one. When they disappeared, they lost my regular business. McSpaghetti - Scottish pasta?

The mcJizzum is the most secret of menu items. Alot of customers don't know that they still recieve one till this day. Only on the late night menu. Funfact: Bolivian women seem to extract the best fresh jizzum from the source, ready for you at 2am.

OMG, some of my favorites of course. Loved the McDLT, really cant figure out why it was better, lol. Also really loved the McShakers, very convenient Salad, but they did start to suffer from quality issues, I can remember getting them where the shredded cheese had sat too long and turned into a mass of wet nasty cheese. Sorry to see the 2 best breakfast Danishes didn't make the list. The Cheese Danish and Raspberry Danish. I remember getting both to mix and match....

Every chip wagon in Eastern Ontario has onion chips. The McDonald’s ones would never fail here! We even eat the poutine when we have to. The pizza was great in Brockville. They’d bring pitchers of Coke and shakers with peppers and Parmesan around the dining room like at Pizza Hut, and they had custom-painted delivery Neons. The Big Xtra was good. There was a dark time of no Hot Mustard, but that’s been righted.

My absolute favorites in the 90s were the personal pizzas and I think it was called the cheddar melt. Those pizzas were the best tho. You just had to wait 92 hours for it. The salad shakers were the best too.
