my main problem with the Customizable player models mod is a lot of the community made models are paywalled (which iirc, does violate Minecraft's EULA, could be possible that additions for mods are a grey area)

A good place would be amazing if it had custom animations for some blocks. For example lantern could drop down and stay on the chain, or when connecting fences a singular fence would be placed and then connected with emerging planks.

Mo' Bends did combat animations prior to Animation Overhaul, although IIRC it isn't maintained anymore (I haven't checked recently), so is stuck in older versions.
