Thanks! It's been very cool learning Norwegian from your lessons. I learned Spanish in high school and college and learned some Hawaiian words while I lived in Hawaii over 10 years ago. Like Spanish, I see some common words in Norweign. And I think learning Norwegian is much easier learning Dutch.You make learning Norwegian fun. May this small gift bless you and your family.
@B-Meister Жыл бұрын
I am Dutch and learning Norwegian (Bokmål) is definitely way more doable when you already know Dutch, German and English too. Many words are (very) similar to these languages. Not surprising obviously since they're all Germanic languages l, but still :) If you wanted to learn Dutch you'll notice that it makes a lot more sense after learning Norwegian!

Hi, I'm just starting to learn Norwegian on KZbin. Yours is one of several KZbin video teachers I really like! It's so interesting that there are so many Norwegian words that are like English words -- you can see the influence of the Vikings' Scandinavian language on English. In school I enjoyed learning French, German and Latin. I'm an American woman and I live in the USA in Kansas.

Hats off to those native Arabic-speakers and a nod to the Romance language-speakers learning Norwegian. As native English-speaker and fluent Spanish-speaker, I can't imagine the nightmare it is trying to pronounce some Norwegian words. Never mind the grammar. haha English makes it somewhat easy if you're familiar with various dialects (particularly northern British ones).

I am a Fleming and can see many relations with Flemish/Dutch and can understand a lot of words. An easy language to learn. A beautiful and charming language. Kunne, in Flemish wij kunnen. We don't have so many latin words as in English. Prove=proeven in Flemish/Dutch. Still a family language of us. A little bit further away but still family.

I discovered your videos and find them very useful and well done. I have a question for you: when foreign people speak Norwegian in a bad way (more or less) Do you (the Norwegians in general) understand them, or it is needed to speak Norwegian with a very good accent in order to understand them? We in Spain understand foreign people although they speak spanish in a very very bad way. Is it the same with the Norwegian or I need to work a lot my accent? Tusen takk. Antonio.
@NorwegianTeacher10 жыл бұрын
Antonio Perez Hello :) we are VERY used to our language being spoken with many accents, so this is not the first priority! I think you will absolutely be understood. Sometimes of course we might have to ask you a time or two to repeat! :) Hope that is ok! :)
