That's something I always noticed while watching "Criminal Minds", that fairly big stars were willing to play small cameo roles as random law enforcement personnel, victims or killers. I guess they were fans of the show and jumped at the opportunity. Oh, and Ben Savage playing the younger version of "Gideon" was just brilliant casting. He nailed it.

Fun Fact: Mark Hamil's Daughter Is A Huge Fan Of Criminal Minds. Before The Episode Aired, Her Mother Told Her That Her Father Would Be Appearing On The Show. She Asked Who He Was Playing. Hardly a new concept. Back in 1979 the grandchildren of Fred Astaire were big fans of the original BSG. They told him being on that show was their standard of being a big star, so he contacted the producers, said he'd like to be on the show, and a couple episodes later he was Starbuck's father (except Starbuck didn't find out).

I think you need to do another list, because you missed quite a few. C. Thomas Howell was in several episodes as George Foyet (the reaper). Also Jackson Rathbone, Michelle Trachtenberg, Bug Hall, Jamie Kennedy, Robin Lively (she was on the same episode as Wil Wheaton) and Mackenzie Phillips to name a few. Not to mention Jane Lynch as Reid's mom in several episodes. Also, Ed Asner (R.I.P) appeared in an episode as Hotch's former father-in-law. He definitely should've gotten a mention.

Yep, them and so many more! That’s why I commented that another list could easily be compiled! I am a HUGE Criminal Minds fan, but even with the number of times I have seen all the seasons, I am positive I could watch them again and say, “Oh, I forgot so-and-so was on here!” They also didn’t mention Jane Lynch, who played Reid’s mom. Maybe because of the whole, “nobody forgot she played that part” thing. However, in their list, there were many actors listed where people couldn’t POSSIBLY forget they played that part! 🤷🏻‍♀️

One of the rare times we feel sympathy towards the unsub, I think his character along with the pool boy played by Jackson Rathbone, and the girl connected to Will (JJs love interest) by his father who was investigating her rape case which never was prosecuted properly.

And that episode of the girl in the mall who's aunt staged her kidnapping because the girl was being sexually abused by her husband/the uncle, and her son knew she took the girl but was trying to block it out.

If you forgot anything with this series then you are not a fan, I cried like a baby when it was announced that it was finishing this is hands down my favourite EVER TV show from America. It had it all and the cast including the guest stars where on top form. Seeing Hamil play a very bad guy was awesome, but the story line with Keith Carradine in was absolutely phenomenal. As was the story line of Hotchner and George Foyet splendidly played by C Thomas Howell, Tim Curry played one hell of a unhinged serial killer, I could go on and on and on about this series. It was never the same you always knew each episode would stand up on it's own, the writing team on this show were some of the finest. PLEASE BRING IT BACK.

My favorite guest appearances were by James Van Der Beek and Evan Peters. I grew up watching Dawson's Creek and James' role as Tobias Hankel was just SO different from Dawson. He was a really devastating unsub because he was a victim in his own right. He was made into the villain through abuse. And Evan Peters' character, Charlie will always get me. Especially when he tells that boy's parents that he saved a little girl.

For an unsub. But what about the woman sexually abused by her father and he took her dolls away so she kidnapped women as replacements? Or the guy who was a vet and got triggered hearing the construction work and thought he was in a war zone? Or the pig farm episode? Not so much the disabled brother but the mentally handicapped one taken advantage of by his brother? There were a few others here and there too. Most unsubs were awful and you felt glad they got caught, but then there's a handful who you could feel somewhat sorry for because they were legitimately good people who just snapped because something bad happened to them.

Even worse...they missed Ed Asner who had the most prolific career not anyone on this list by a long shot. More than 400 credits spanning 60+ years. Yet they include Amber Stevens West, who I had to look up because she has done...well...nothing. I have literally never heard her name before. He really did, someone said that a prequel about him, Rossi and Max Ryan and possibly Strauss and how they created the BAU, now I’m not that hot on prequels in general but the show rarely mentions the beginning days and I think it’d be a great opportunity to see that, but only one season would be needed, maybe 2 if ratings are stable, cuz that’s what caused Suspect Behavior and Beyond Borders to get cancelled

The Frankie Muniz episode I think hits the hardest. He was the only one in the whole series who really thought he was good, living in a world where he thought he was a superhero. That ending, where he keeps calling the girlfriends cellphone, always alive in that voice message. You felt for the character and the bad deck of life he was dealt.

I binge watch criminal minds so much that when I see the actors in other stuff, I’m like hey that person was in that criminal minds episode. Even if I don’t remember their names. I saw Cameron Monaghan in something a couple years ago and I was like “why is this dude making me uncomfortable” then I immediately go “ he played a killer in criminal minds!” 😂 that’s probably the only way I recognize people.
