The mold was broken when Robin was born. He created the mold. No one will ever ever come close to the magic he gave us. So glad my childhood was graced by his films. Patch Adams, GMV (my dad served in Vietnam war so this one is special to me), Mrs. Doubtfire, and Jack just absolute classics

It’s times like this I wish KZbin had a love button instead of just a like button. Robin Williams was the greatest comedian to have ever lived. He spent his entire live putting smiles on peoples face and happiness in our hearts and yet couldn’t put one on his own. He will be forever missed, and I’ll speak for myself, but I’m sure the message will resonate among all of us, Robin if you can read or hear any of us… you will never be forgotten.

Ah, Robin Williams. A true legend, having touched the hearts and minds of all ages. Making us laugh, cry, and an array of other emotions no one could anticipate whenever he makes an appearance on screen or in person. Although he is no longer with us, he has left a legacy for us to enjoy. And even to this day, it still remembered fondly and loved. And most of all, he was indeed a one in a million individual, one that no one could even hope to replicate. R.I.P Robin, you wonderful legend.

Met him in person, nice guy. I had the unique opportunity to be his sound guy for a show. We were deployed and he came to do a show. Any sound guy knows you dont put your equipment in the center aisle unless you need to (big shows)...since the cables were short to the speakers i had to. He noticed me in the center aisle and said "Oh you are the sound guy to make sure i sound good." Without missing a beat, i turned up the gain on his microphone which caused lound feedback. The whole audience erupted with laughter and so did he. He came off the stage shook my hand, smiled and had a great show. Felt great knowing i could help him. RIP Robin. We all have demons and im still dealing with mine from combat.

I can barely watch Robin Williams clips without tearing up a little bit. Not only was he the funniest man alive he had a warmth and tenderness that could touch your heart and soul. Every line he gave sounded improvised yet brilliant and perfectly timed. I only hope that even through his depression, he knew how much he was loved by everyone.

This man will always be my favorite actor, comedian, and celebrity. He's an icon and will always be. He truly embodies his ending speech from "Jack" "And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky, when the stars are strung across the velvety night, and when a shooting star streaks through the blackness turning night into day -- make a wish think of me. And make your life spectacular. I know I did." He really did and to this day, I can't look up, see the stars and not think of him. Rest in Peace Mork, you'll be in our hearts forever.

My Dad, Aaron Blaise, was the Lead Animator for Rajah the Tiger in Aladin. One of his most memorable behind the scenes moments was when he was at his desk animating away and suddenly he hears behind him in a silly deep bellowing voice "Aaron! It's time to go to lunch!". Dad whips around and it was Robin Williams with a Studio Guide. He being given a tour around the Studio at the time and saw my Dad working and decided to surprise him a little bit. Dad speaks highly of the visit. What a great man he was. My personal favorite improv of Robin Williams was during an USO Tour in Iraq. In mid stand up, the Reveille started to play on the loud speakers "UH OH" he yells and everyone stood and saluted the flag while Robin patiently waited. When it was done he was a bit confused at first and asked what that was all about and started cracking jokes about the moment.

My heart sank when on a school day waiting for school van to arrive I read the newspaper in my aunt's hands that had written Robin Williams died. Having always seen him do funny and goofy stuff making me roll laughing. I read loneliness took him. I knew then and there why I feared death. It took someone who was a bright light and dimmed the light in others who cared for that light. His roles in whichever movie or show or cameo I would see... I would fall for. Rest in laughter Robin. For someone who was leaps and bounds ahead of anyone being naturally funny. One of the absolute opposite feeling of this huge loss. He made watching anyone trying to be funny impossible to watch. I never knew the guy but I felt so close as he touched my heart and funny bone. I haven't laughed like I did when he was in my room thru the television. Every single second he was in my sight I was happy, no matter how sad I was. He made me forget sometimes when I was in a dark place that I was there. To realize somehow he was just battling some demon or enemy. I haven't seen him in awhile and I have to go see some of these. I'm glad this came up today. I was down and ugh. Me too! I was just an extra in "World's Greatest Dad", but my role required me to hug him over & over during an intensely emotional scene. How about you?

@@LadyGameProfessor I worked with him and George Carlin’s daughter and a bunch of other comics on a TV special. I got to be his personal assistant. It was so fun he told so many fun stories. The irony is I almost killed them all when driving to location. It was a 15 passenger van and we were loaded and on the way. While driving this crazy woman decides to walk out in the middle of the road. I slam on the breaks and honk the horn. But I’m like fuck it I can’t stop in time so swerve around her and kept driving. I’m freaked out everyone is freaked out and Robin reached out and put his hand on my shoulder, in his warm gentle way to make sure I was ok. I’ll never forget that memory.

Like Jim Henson, Mr. Rogers, and others, Robin made the world a brighter happier place. His loss is hard not to feel even though we never really knew him. My favorite roll of his was Bicentennial Man. I know it's overdone and heavy handed at parts, it was the story of what it really means to be human. Williams was so genuine and earnest, it brings a tear to my eye every time. "O Captain, My Captain" now and always

I absolutely miss Robin Williams. I had just returned from seeing a movie in the theaters with my mother when about 40 minutes later or so, she comes walking into my room and tells me she had just read about Robin's passing. I just sat where I was, motionless. The time just stood still, I was that shocked because we had lost an incomparable talent in the acting and comedy world. Robin was one of those guys who improvised very, VERY well. In fact, he had what it took to turn any person's frown upside down, and into the biggest and happiest smile you could imagine on a whim. He was that good, he was that talented, and he was that amazing. Without doubt, Robin Williams is truly missed
