Many R-rated films get licensed children’s toys without much controversy. I think in his case the fact that the Alina franchise is a horror series plays a role though Freddie Krueger blade gloves and Jason Vorhees hockey masks have been kids Halloween costume staples for along time so even R-rated horror films get a pass sometimes too. I have a brilliant one in my tape archive, which I should try and digitise. When I worked in an ad agency in London I had to make showreels of all the TV ads they made for companies all over the world. Some products were really bizarre, but the weirdest one I came across was for something called Shito Mix, which is basically a savoury sauce powder popular in some African countries. Unfortunately it looks every bit like it sounds, and I could not with a straight face dub those adverts with the sloppy brown liquid with the tagline "so tasty, so thick" as it oozed into a dish!!
