I personally could not bring myself to place AITD,HA at my #1 for the year (spoiler: it's my #7), but I'm so glad to finally see at least one person call it their AOTY! Natalie and crew worked miracles on that album and it needs to be acknowledged. Highly recommend you catch her on tour for this album if you get the chance--her live show has improved from the TR era, in my opinion.

I predominantly listen to Black Metal but dip my toes into most genres. I already love the Big Thief and BCNR albums but have now discovered Quadeca, beach house and Weyes Blood, so thank you very much👍

Have you heard any of the KGLW albums that came out this year? I think the most recent one or Omnium Gatherum might deserve a slot on this list. I totally agreed with BlackMidi/BCNR albums, those are unforgettable. I am going to give Blue Rev and Beach House a try before Year End as well i think

Hearts Aglow is my number one as well! Funnily enough, the reason I like her music so much is because she sounds like a ton of other musicians, but in a great way. Specifically Karen Carpenter, Janis Ian, Joni Mitchell

Wow! Watching your vid, I realize that I really made zero effort to listen to new stuff in 2022. Admittedly, I have at least 50 years of hardcore music listening behind me and, therefore, tend to pay less and less attention to newer music. I love discovering new stuff. But, unlike when I was younger, I just don't clock the hours of checking new stuff that I did for several decades. Listening to your playlist, now. Dig the Hatchie track. Like the Perfume Genius track, as well. Might need to listen to the entire Quadeca album. Denzel Curry sounds good. But, I don't think I'll dive any deeper. Gonna check out the whole Jockstrap album. Gonna check the Daniel Rossen album, as well. The Weeknd album is one of the few I had already listened to. I like his music. But, I usually only check out his new release and then hear it whenever my daughter plays his music. Kendrick is usually pretty good. This is no exception. Rosalia sounds pretty cool. But, not something I'll check further. FKA Twigs is almost always good. This is also one of the few 2022 things I'd already checked out. I like the sound of Sudan Archives. The Beach House album is one that I had already checked out. Black Country sounds pretty interesting, for sure. Might have to give the Weyes Blood album a couple of spins, too. The 2022 albums that have stuck for me ( so far ): Wet Leg / Wet Leg, Tears For Fears / The Tipping Point, Arctic Monkeys / The Car, Robert Glasper / Black Radio III, Stormzy / This Is What I Mean, Bonobo / Fragments, Jack White / Fear Of The Dawn, Porcupine Tree / Closure - Continuation ( by far my fave 2022 album )

Love Perfume Genius and I like the new one but not as much as his last 4.. only one of his I have on vinyl, need to give it a full listening experience haha. Little Simz surprise album!!! So good! Her album last year was in my top 5. Bjork is one of the best artists ever. IMO she never misses.
