I knew this was done sometime ago but I went back and watched some of your old videos and just had a comment on this one. What you did to re-create the succulents the water can the flowers in the pot were absolutely unbelievable. The techniques you used and how well they came out really words can’t explain. You are very talented and very gifted at what you do.

Crafters should never apologize for background noises..whether it’s a cat, a kid or a crazy neighbor! Those are the sounds of life, and is something we all have in common!! ☺️ Thank you for sharing your incredible gift with us! I’m going to try the succulent out of an egg carton first! Absolutely brilliant...&...it’s especially perfect for those of us who are financially-challenged! Blessings & prayers!!

An alternative method for those little Pearl button dot-things (if you can’t find them at the store)- is to make them with hot glue! On a few sheets of baking/wax paper, I will pipe out like 200 beads, in the 4 sizes I use most often. When they’re cooled, I’ll either snip off (or melt/smooth) any “Hershey kiss” peaks on them-and then spray paint the entire sheet of pearls. Once dry, I sort each size into it’s proper corresponding “size” box- so they’re always ready to be painted/used in projects! ☺️❤️👍

A girl after my own heart! So many women are intimidated of working with wood, so once you know how to turn cardboard into faux wood, skies the limit! You could even make a three tier tray if you layer them thick enough. Cutting boards, frames, you name it. I’ve even made lids for coffee cans. You can see that craft in one of my Christmas and fall videos. Thanks for commenting and happy new year to you!

The things you make out of every day items always blows me away. I too am very frugal and save just about everything I think I can make into something beautiful. I never would’ve dreamed of making metal flowers out of cans, succulents out of egg cartons or make a paper product look like real wood. You are absolutely amazing ! I love to watch you while I craft. Crafting is my therapy. Adding your soothing voice makes it all the more relaxing. Absolutely beautiful...do not know where to start. The miniatures are so great for the tiered trays...that churn reminded me of my mom telling me about her mother making butter and they had one.. it may have been different but this reminded me of her story about the crocks of cabbage...weighted down making sauerkraut. She said she would go down to the basement or celler and lift the weight off, grab a few fingers full of the fermenting cabbage and eat it. She also would go out to the garden with a salt shaker in her overalls (yeah) and shine tomatoes on them and eat her fill. She said if anyone had told her girls would be wearing overalls on purpose she would have laughed. They got new shoes when school started up again in the fall. My grandmother was a school teacher. Kids today are spoiled and many feel entitled but have nothing on those who came before them and worked hard for what they have. God bless America and help her please. Thank you for all your terrific ideas and I apologize for rambling on, but you brought back some great memories. Thank you. 🥰🥰🥰

I love doing a faux wood effect on so many things but I never thought to try cardboard. I cannot believe how realistic that looks. It has my wheels spinning with ideas. I love the look for less challenges and dupe videos. I’m glad you made the project in the direction of your style. They usually turn out looking so much better when you do them that way. Or maybe we just think that because it is in our taste? Either way I love it. Oh my goodness! I’m going to to edit this comment a whole lot before the video ends. I used to use a natural sponge for my faux galvanized metal look. Luckily, I couldn’t find them one day and used a crumpled up paper towel instead so I could move in with the rest of my craft. I really do like the end result I get when using it. Plus if you use the same area of a natural sponge it can make the details look to uniform. You have to continually move your paper towel around if you use that process. I thought it was just me who did it that way. Most KZbinrs I watch either use natural sponges or make up sponges. Wow! You are extremely talented. You are amazing at all things faux. I am truly amazed. Your miniatures are top notch as well.Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks as well as your creativity with us. I love your budget friendly ideas that turn out looking so great! 👏🏼 Bravo!

I use egg crates to rip "rocks". They look real because you can have layers and bumps just as a rock does. You can "wash" them with various muted colors- tans, grays, browns etc. You can take a fine brush and make dark striations (lines) in the "rocks". Poly gives a darker color but does work, it protects the cardboard.

I was looking at things on Michael's and Amazon and a succulent popped up (I wasn't searching for them), and 😳 (this is what my face looked like). Haha. I couldn't believe the price of them. This is great, if you like them. I am not a fan of them, but I can see what you did here, for making other plants. Thank you. I love it. You are correct about layering, and layering, and layering. Nature has so many dimensions. My art professor had us start with like an burnt umber (orange brown) color before we would paint our picture. Nature does not start with a stark white background, like canvas' are. You need a background. Start with a coloring book and crayons, and lightly, very lightly, color your picture with an orangish brown color, then color whatever other color you would like, and sort of blend it as you go, you will be amazed at how realistic you can color, and do some shading and highlighting. I love to color in children's coloring books, because of this. My mom did it when I was younger, and, as a child, I couldn't understand why her pictures looked so beautiful and real. My mom was amazing at art and decoration, and she didn't even realize it. Most people would go out and pick flowers, but my mom saw the beauty in the weeds.

I just found your channel after years of watching crafters trying to make high end look items. Most of the time I was not impressed with them. You however have renewed my faith in crafting on a budget! Love love love your channel! I love the baby wipe technique. I never seen that before. You really made that cardboard and foam board look like wood!
