I read Half a Soul last year because a commenter from one of your videos said they loved it, and personally I really loved it too. It was so good that when it ended I was devastated it wasn't a series (not in an it-felt-unfinished way, more in an i-dont-wanna-stop-reading-about-these-characters way). Loooved the main characters and their banter is top-notch. I look forward to knowing your thoughts about it soon 🥰

Since everyone is making their TBR lists for the year, don't forget to give indie authors a chance! One indie book I really enjoyed last year was Earth: Game of the Year Edition by Robert Carnevale. It's fantasy/sci-fi with some romance and kickass action.

ahhhh unwind!! had to read the first one for english in high school ages ago but it blew my 15 year old self’s mind and i ended up following through the whole series that had been publish up to then and would also love to revisit it this year. there’s some scenes i still remember to this day and think about often. this was what got me into shusterman’s books, i hope you end up loving it as much as i remember loving it!

I gave The Bear and the Nightingale 3 stars and was really debating continuing with the series. But I decided to continue with it anyway and it is now one of my all-time favorite series ever! It’s truly a wonderful series with such an inspiring female protagonist and a beautiful, enriched world. If you don’t like the first book, I still highly recommend you to continue with book 2! 🫶🏼

omg HECK YES, The Unwind Dystology. I love this series so much. I adore it. This was definitely a formative read for me as a teen, made me love dystopias and fundamentally shaped my reading tastes to this day. And it’s still my like gold standard for dystopias. I‘m so excited for you reading it, I’m so starved for conversation about it. This is the book series that I‘ve been (unsuccessfully) trying to convince people to read for years and also the book series that I‘ve picked beef with the german publisher over (it’s a petty feud on my part, nothing else, but it fuels me).

The Bear and the Nightingale is one of my favorites! Just keep in mind that the first book is by far the slowest. I personally loved especially this about it, but I guess for some book 2 and 3 that pick up pace are better. So don't give up on it, if you have difficulties getting into book 1

I LOVED unwind as a teenager. It is the only series of all the YA dystopia that I still have on my bookshelf. Have been meaning to reread it as an adult. The second book especially sparked so many existential thoughts and questions. I cried when reading the "unwind scene" at the end. It was so underrated among all the other YA dystopia of the tumblr era.

The Invisible Library Series is fantastic! Great vibes throughout all the book. Its one of those books-about-books kind of stories und also plays with a lot of tropes. It's very comfy since it about books, while also having a lot of action, sci-fi-fantasy and mystery elements. There is probably something in this series for everyone.

I read a single book and I think my tbr will become smaller, but then Hannah uploads and 20 books are added 🫠 Lovely list btw. Also, I think that you are gonna love "The Golem and The Jinni", it is one of my favourite books. It is really slow but character driven and the magic system is interesting. One more that I don't see often mentioned on booktube is "The Girl who Fell Beneath the Sea". It has studio Ghibli vibes (mostly Spirited Away). I think you'll like it (I firstly fell in love with the cover, then the story drew me in, I finished it in two days). I hope you have a great reading year!!

OMG! I loveeeeee the Miracles of Namiya General Store. I read it in the last months of 2023 and fell in love with it. This book is unlike anything I've ever read. It has such incredibly magical and enchanting vibes while being meaningful and engaging. I feel that a lot of cosy books (fantasy, mystery and otherwise) tend to be a lot of fluff without much substance but this is such a unique premise, creative storytelling and heartwarming characters that I was and am still captivated by it. It's one of my absolute favourite books of all time (the list is pretty long). Even just thinking about it brings a smile to my face. It's an absolute treasure of a book!

Instead of a "reading 5 sad books" or a "reading only romance novels" video (which i like those videos don't get me wrong!) how about a "reading a book for each emotion" haha! There'd be one sad book, one happy book, one either rge inducing or a book about rage maybe a nonfiction? etc, and then seeing what you enjoyed the most. That might be fun to watch 😁❤

I'm reading Sword Catcher and I believe you gonna love it... idk, something about the characters... I think you gonna like it ! And I re-read the host last year and it was so good. I didn't remembered much about it and realizing that Smeyer can actually write was a funny moment.

Sword catcher and fragile threads of power were my two fav books I read during 2023!! Had such a blast reading them 🥺🩷 I will say though, sword catcher reads a little bit more like YA in some parts, but I LOVED IT! it reminded me of the graceling series which is my all time favourite 💛⚔️ cannot recommend them enough!

A Curse For True Love was my first read of 2024! And I also have Half a Soul, The Miracles of the Namiya General Store and What My Bones Know on this year’s tbr ☺️ I would love to hear your opinions on the Daevabad trilogy btw! That was one of 2023 highlights along with some of your favorites.

i’ve read the invisible library and oddly enough im reading book 3 rn (there’s 8 in total) while listening to your video in the background😭 It’s a fun and interesting ride. it’s not going to blow your mind like it’s the most brilliant thing you’ve ever read but i personally enjoy it and, like i said, find it fun and interesting

We Hunt the Flame is the next book on my reading list and I am so excited for it. I heard it's a bit like Dance of Thieves and I LOVED that duology so I am hoping to love this one as well.

My high school made every grade read a different book for summer reading, and I remember reading Unwind and being so disturbed by it- I’m sure if I had read it now or under different context I would like it more but 🥴
