I'll always sing YS 8 praises, this game has one of the best stories in JRPGs (one of the few where I cried at the best ending). Personally I also love the island exploration aspect XD

Love the Super Mario RPG, loved it when it came out originally on the SNES. Love the Star Ocean games always a lot to do in them. Ys are good games, same with the Xenoblade games I'm happy to see that Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming next March. Dragon Quest 11 S and Dragon Quest III HD2D are good (despite the changes in DQ3), I'm looking forward to 1 & 2 next year. Octopath Traveler is an interesting series, I love the classic 16-bit feel to the game.

a lot of these can be bought on a MUCH better system then this underpowered brick

True but you can't take those other systems with you on the go and play on say a bus, train, or airplane, unless of course you have a Steamdeck or one of the Windows based handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally. Also, not everyone can afford at a minimum of $500 for a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S (I know the Series S is cheaper). I have all 3 modern systems including a high-end gaming PC, and next to the PC the Switch has by far the most RPGs on it, some are shovel ware others are quite good. Obviously, you're not going to find Elden Ring on the Switch, but it does have The Witcher 3 and Skyrim which play surprisingly well on the system.
