Top 25 Makeup Tips, Tricks & Products for Pale Skin

In a world where makeup companies make products to fit the majority, you're sometimes screwed being on the very light or dark end of the skin spectrum. This video is to give a little insight into my favorite products and tips for pale skin, being part of the pasty club myself.
As with all things, what works well for me may not necessarily work for you. I encourage you (especially with foundation and concealer) to be open minded and try as many kinds of products as possible. The undertones vary pretty widely from brand to brand, and it also all depends if you prefer light, medium of full coverage. I didn't talk about concealers because I haven't found many that I like yet- but the one that has worked best for me over the years so far is MAC's Studio Finish Concealer (dat NC15 life).
If you have any questions or other recommendations of great products please leave them in the comments! Let's help each other out! And remember to not ever feel bad about your natural skin, or make fun of others', no matter the color. Melanin ain't nothin but a thang.

For girls struggling for light coloured foundation, try Korean BB creams. Those can go extremely pale and cool toned (It's a cultural thing). It's not ok to go up to someone with fair skin and tell them to get a tan. It's like going to someone with darker skin and telling them to lighten it. That's just rude and - let's face it - our natural skin tone most often works perfectly for us! It's okay to play with our skin tone with tanning etc, but it should be because we like to and want to. Not because we're pressured to :') I think your skin is perfectly gorgeous the way it is. Glad you're sharing this message with your viewers! :)

Some of y'all need to chill about the lemon juice. Let's talk some common sense here: First, some of you are siting blogs or other youtube people that warn about lemon juice causing chemical burns. I hate to break it to you but those people are no more credible than me unless they site scientific studies (which a lot or most of them don't). Then you also need to make sure that scientific study isn't funded by a makeup company who may have a vested interest in 'proving' that a $3 natural toner is dangerous compared to the $100 one that they manufacture. See the bias that could be happening there? If the source is credible AND unbiased and you are worried, then practice the proper precautions you should when putting ANYTHING on your skin. Patch test first- if irritation occurs then obviously stop using it. But I shudder to think that people may be scared out of using something that could very well help them tremendously, without dropping a ton of money. I did not conduct a scientific study on this, so know that I (and a lot of people on youtube) am speaking from my own personal research and experience, which is that this may help a lot of people like it has for me and others I know. If done outside of the way I am recommending it, ie. leaving it on for a couple of minutes and rinsing it off before bed, you may have different results or effects (for example: stay out of the sun and don't leave it on a long time). All of my advice should be taken with these things in mind, because although I am a professional, I am not a scientist or doctor. But again, I feel like this is just common sense. I would not recommend anything to my followers that I didn't believe was safe for most people or that I haven't tested on myself for an extended period of time (and pertaining to this case, I have extremely sensitive skin so I feel comfortable generally recommending). What you decide to do from there is your responsibility. Lastly, sorry that this is a ridiculously long comment. But this will be applicable to a lot of things if you didn't already know. That, and I talk a lot.

I can vouch for the lemon juice method. I too had acne and scars and the only thing that worked was lemon juice. still to this day, I drink lemon juice and water and apply the jucie to my face and im fine!. I would much prefer putting something natural on my face rather than some man made chemical. just saying!. besides lemons are yummy! :D ^-^

I an also attest to the lemon juice method. I bought some neutrogena wash with salycilic acid in it a while back and that gave me a HORRIBLE reaction. It was either an allergy or irritation but it made my skin dry, rough, red/splotchy, and felt like sandpaper (and I actually have pretty good skin so idk why I even bought that). I couldn't put makeup on for days (which totally sucked b/c I love makeup). That's when I turned to natural products. I started putting olive oil on my skin after looking up the benefits and it made the reaction go away much quicker then it otherwise would have. I even use it as makeup remover nightly now (best ever!). Anyways, so the lemon juice thing I started using because I had a few acne marks I hated and wanted them gone. I also mixed it with some baking powder, however. And it does really work. I had no problems with it other than it burned a little (but that was due to the mixture of lemon and baking powder). It's also a good teeth whitener. The way I see it, before going out and buying expensive products with tons of chemicals in them...there might be cheaper, easier, more natural ways to get the result you want without shelling out big bucks. Also, mashed strawberries are great for acne marks as well! :)

Also, I want to hear some of the most ridiculous things people have asked you, said to you, or joked about in relation to your skin. Any color skin. Let's lol about it rather than be upset about it. I'll start it off with the story of the senior citizen I mentioned in the video: A couple years ago I was a cocktail waitress at a casino, and an little old man who could barely walk came up to me and put $5 on my tray. Now that was really nice since sometimes I didn't even get tipped a cent for bringing people their drinks, and this cute little old man was giving me money for nothing. With a big ass smile on my face I asked him, "what's this for?!!" and he yells at me in the crabbiest voice ever, "GET A TAN." Imma need more money if that's what ya want me to do with it, buddy.

I had to start wearing blush to work every day otherwise I would continuously get asked if I was sick. Hell, I still get asked that most of the time even with blush (and I work in a hospital setting surrounded by doctors all day long)! Fluorescent lighting never helps either... I've only just recently started wearing my true skin colour in foundation (when I can find it lol) too. Using a darker colour (usually the lightest one in the range) seemed to slightly help with the pale comments. But fark that! Oh, and don't forget about all the "are you a ghost/vampire?" comments.

As a kid my step brother and his friends dubbed me casper. Still to this day in the summer when I wear shorts or skirts people comment that I'm going to blind them with how pale I am. I have always loved being pale. (It made the goth thing so much more easy and convincing ha ha) Also to all of the pale ladies just look, love, and admire Dita Von Teese. She has fully embraced her pale milky skin and does everything she can to ensure she doesn't tan. I always keep her in mind when people call me casper.

Have you found something yet? I'm currently mixing a warm tone that's pale enough (Nars L1) and a slightly darker cool toned foundation (Wet n Wild photofocus in Rose Ivory 364C) and a pink primer (Almay CC Luminous Primer) and find that usually does well by me. I do like her white suggestion, I'll be going to Sephora this weekend to check out white foundation. Good luck, and share what you figured out!

I know about a foundation which is too light for me even though I'm very pale. The brand is called Idun(I think it's swedish), I don't know if you can get it to where you live. But the lightest color (Norrsken) is veryyy light and costs about 19$ :)

I know this is a little late but I am also allergic to most sunscreens, I suggest try the Nivea Kids sunscreen. It hasn't caused a reaction yet and I have been using it for years. It is also a lot cheaper than 'adult' sunscreen where I live, can't guarantee the same for you though sadly.

I'm not saying they don't need love, but how are you going to give something that you don't understand? You are going to give love, but just not to your full capacity, loving yourself is the first and most basic form of love, that's why some people learn to love themselves and then open up and start loving others better using the love of others for them as a base.

I work hard to stay this pale! Spray tan--never. My sister jokes that our makeup shade is "Anemic Albino". I used to use Natural No 1 Max Factor Pancake but lately most ivory shades do work for me as long as it's a cool tone instead of warm tone. If they are dark I mix in some white to balance it.

When I was a kid this woman came up to my mum and blatantly said your child is an albino why didn't you put her up for adoption? My mum was so shocked by the comment she didn't know what to say. I was 6 at the time and quite troubled after that I asked my mum why she didn't put me up for adoption. So sad that a grown ass woman can be so naive! Not to mention he also said I was "way too thin" which was insulting and hurtful. Why do people think they have the right to criticize those things? Contour: NYX blush in shade Taupe! (UK in Boots) Shimmer highlight: makeup Revolution have a powder contour kit, the pink and white highlights are beautiful. (UK in Superdrug) the cool brown in it is also a good contour. Foundation (I'm sure there's paler foundations out there): Mac NW10 (neaural-pink) and NC10 (neutral yellow). Estee lauder 1c0 shell (pink undertone. 1n0 porcelain (new shade. Neatrual undertone. Just bought. I'll update in comments). 1w1 (No 1w0 yet. Warm undertones. Quite orange and a bit dark though). Brown brows: NYX micro pencil in shade Taupe. Cool brown. Not warm or red on pale skin. Powder: No7 translucent. Just bought no colour rcma, I'll update :) Hope this helps a little bit for anyone. I have acne and oily skin so I need full coverage foundation. I also have pale skin with neutral yellow but always get matched pink because of my acne. If you have a similar skin type, I recommend estee lauder foundation over Mac as it breaks up a lot and very quickly on my skin. Especially around the mouth. But if it works for you, great!

Hahah yes indeed! And working at MAC I, actually too often, ran into the same issue on the opposite end of the spectrum where MAC's foundations weren't dark enough for many women which use to really bum me out to represent. They've since made a few darker options. :) Thanks for watching it anyway!

Thank you so much for this vid! I've always had trouble figuring out how to do makeup on my pale skin. And I definitely understand all the remarks people make about paleness. People tell me if I were any lighter, I would blend in eith the wall, or a piece of paper. And omg when you pulled out that foundation that you said was the only one that matches for you, I yelled out "OMG YES!" because that's the one that I have!!

The worst thing I've ever heard was when I was at a MAC counter and they couldn't find a match for my skintone and I was told to get a tan. I highly recommend Cover FX N10 foundation, which is very pale. I also use Life's Entropy White foundation elixir to color correct foundations that are too dark. Also, you might like Notoriously Morbid Osteomancy highlighter (silvery white) Loved this video!
