Looks like Blizz beat me to the punch and nerfed the cave spot already. I'm recording all the nerfs again like we did for BfA, does anyone know when approximate time/date it happened? Also, big props to blizz for finally including some goldmaking and profession nerfs in the patch notes. Now we just need to convince them to let us know when they do things like this.

Between the 29 and 30 of November, was skinning normally for an hour and then all of the sudden the snakes become unskinnable lol

There is a similar spot at 56.37. 5 of them around this pool. and you can reach all in one spot as ranged. they force spawn for some reason. Found this spot as logged in on the morning of 30th and could not skin the ones in the cave anymore (I also spent hours in the cave on previous day skinning them)

@@teilakeiarath7911 Yeah I spent about 6 hours doing that cave one afternoon. If you stood in the first room you could kill all in first room, then pull and LoS the second room and as they died the first room reopened and you killed them, then you skinned all 15 or so and repeat..

Great video for those skinners who like to put in the work.. Now here's the secret to getting several thousand leather an hour.. find a skinning spot that has a World Quest dropped on top of it. Yesterday in EU it was the Gorms in Ardenweald. Day before it was snake thingies in Bastion. Find this spot. Wait till peak time. Around abouts when people get home from work, and go and skin the mobs there.. no need to kill. If you're on a high pop server there should be people constantly killing for you. You just need to run and skin. I did this yesterday for 3 hours at the Gorm spot and got in excess of 10k base leather. As an extra boost, if the WQ happens to coincide with the Calling Zone of the day, even more people will flock to that WQ. Enjoy..

I hear people mentioning this strategy all the time. You need a critical mass of people killing but not skinning the mobs, and not of your own faction (if they tag you can't skin). It is profitable when it occurs but you don't get the right conditions as often as people think.

So at around 48, 58 in bastion there's a cave with about 8-10 mobs that force spawn and can be skinning. It's another one of those caves like mentioned in the video. I found the spot pretty early into shadowlands and had no competition, which net me around 3500 leather in about 2 hours of farming (if i'm remembering correctly), ontop of w/e else came with it. However, I just checked the spot today and on my server there are dozens of people farming it, which makes it pretty non viable. I have a feeling the spot is going to get nerfed soon, due to the nature of having such extreme forced spawns, so for those of you who can take advantage of it go for it i say. And if it's been nerfed since this comment feel free to let me know lol

Another fairly decent leather grind, though I haven’t actually calc’d any of it, is finding a world quest that involves killing beasts but isn’t specifically a leatherworking WQ. Even watching and waiting to see if people left the corpses so I wasn’t yoinking anyone else’s leather I made out with around 400-600 the 10-15 minutes I was there. Was one of the Gorm related ones in AW I believe.

There was a world quests just north of Hero's Rest in Bastion with aggressive dragonbirds yesterday in packs of 2-5, and they forced respawn. They're all around the turtle elite, and there are additional beasts around them as well.

When there is a WQ going on, seems like there is the potential for bodies just being left on the ground to skin as well. I know this video is 6 weeks old by now, but the cave got nerfed very fast. Also the raindeer route in ardenwield seems to be the best skinning farm in the game, assuming you are a druid with travel form. as a demon hunter, you need to mount up and demoount to tag them and so on and so on, not quite the best. Demon hunters are the best tanks in the game when it come to surviving heavy damage, but they aren't optimal for this unless you pick a small spot to farm that has hyperspawns. for any farm that requires traveling in a circle or something, druid is what you want.

By far the best way ive found currently is hitting a couple world quest zones (specifically mid bastion) during semi peak hours and go nuts skinning all the things other people are killing. I did this for a couple hours and got about 2-3k leather per hour with a pretty good haul of callous and heavy as well. You miss out on enemy drops but I was effectively non stop skinning. Once true peak time hits it can be difficult because of the way skinning works if a skinner was the one who killed the mob. Not sure exactly how it works but it seems to give them sole rights to it.

Another way which I don't think blizz will nerf is going to a world quest that you have to kill beasts. They respawn very fast because there are so many people and I also love the free skins!

Hey just thought I'd point out something I found that seems to have held true in my experience so far in SL. If you tag a mob first, it seems to know you have skinning and thus is not skinnable by others. I frustrated many a bot, and people trying to push me out of my farm via this method so I have to assume there is now some check that looks to see if the initial tagger has skinning and will hold it only for that person for a period of time before opening up to the rest of the world.

I love this thank you Reckles. In your search did you come across anything like the Tiragarde Sound dogs? Where you kill 8 things, wait 60s, and then they all respawn at the same time and you kill em again? I know it might not be a top-tier spot but I loved that farm.

Mmm the 3rd one seems good still, the others the respawn seems nerfed, i did a round of the first one and took a while for any beast to come back within that radius, the cave one is busted now too The one north of Tirna Vaal in Arden is still pumping though, its good without competition but too many people flock there all day

they NEEEEEEEED to fix this bullshit skinning, like if someone is in a party, hits your target that you taunted -- for like 1% dmg, its now their skin, vs it being your skin because you taunted it and did 99% of the dmg to it. Also why are there only like 4 actual good spots in shadowlands to farm for leather, and they are tiny, like you flip around and there's immediately another player waiting their turn to get some leather, like we need bigger area(s) with more spawns so this doesnt happen, i am constantly seeing like 5-10 dudes in these leather spots. Impossible to farm as a solo unless you are going in at 6am.

@@mowgaz3439 Yea, I think it was around 10g or 12g by the time I watched the skinning videos the other day. I ran my DH through the Maw just to head to the cave to find Boomkins already going to town. Blizz needs to act faster in banning the bots. I reported a couple in Zandalar every day for a week or two, yet anytime I checked, there they were skinning away, and then making strikers.
