It isn't that big, but the Heta 900 we got (after seeing your review) is brilliant. The quality is amazing and i am so happy to have chosen the stone. That soft heat is wonderful.

Interesting to see you talking about 5kw and 12 kw stoves and how 15 or 18 would be huge. A fairly standard stove in the Midwest here would be 30kw equivalent unless it's a cabin then we are sort of closer to that 12-15kw stove. 5kw is an oddity around here.

What would be your top 3 or best stove for free-standing? I am looking to get a stove in my extension (ideally one that is modern looking but is not a deal breaker)

That’s an interesting question. They have a lot of different uses, so it’s tricky to say. Will yours just be a room heater or boiler too? Also is it going to be fitted into a chimney, or freestanding?
