FYI for anyone with very narrow ankles. I originally purchased the Crispi Colorado 1, and for whatever reason, they really hurt the outside of my right ankle. I called Crispi and they recommended the Briksdal’s as they run a little more narrow. I have the original all leather Briksdal so I can’t speak for the new ones, but they fit my ankle like a glove and the pain is gone. I would highly recommend to everyone to contact Crispi BEFORE you purchase and see what they would recommend based off your foot/ankle type.

I have 4 pairs of crispi boots now. Well 3, 1 is in transit. I run the nevada insulated for noose season where we don't move around much and Temps are in the 30s. I bought the Colorado's and I haven't got them broke in yet. And lastly I just purchased the briksdal mtn gtx, cant wait to get those out for spring bear hunting. I love crispi boots. Each one feels great out the box and the quality compared to some other boots is off the charts. Keeping your boots clean after use I have found really keeps them in good shape.

I just got the new briksdal MTN GTX. I really like them. I also have the summit II but for those I should of gotten a half size bigger. So I got the briksdals because they were on sale.

You need to try a pair of Lathrop and Sons! It's life changing verses a mass produced Crispi!

I have a pair of their Mt. Hunter elites , threw out the insoles and bought a custom set of orthotics/ insoles…. They are the bomb. I also learned some pretty cool ways to lace the boots to alter form and fit… it really helped me to dial in exactly what I needed for any type of hunting conditions I need. Lathrop and Sons import boots from HanWag and they make an exceptional boot as well.

I have no idea, but I was looking into leather forest fire shoes that Wranglerstar recommends called Nicks Boots. I was looking into the best hiking boots, looked at Project Farm video testing shoes like Salomon, I don’t think there is any best do all option. I wanted a shoe that durable and repairable, able to go into arctic cold conditions and be able to dry after getting soaked.

Love your stuff. Curious if you’ve tried out some smaller footwear. The big stuff boots are great for ankle support and all that jazz especially with big loads. But what about something more like a trail runner or approach shoe with a softer sole that allows for greater feel of the terrain and the ability to walk quieter? Just curious. Keep up the good work

I have used some Solomon light hikers in the past. they are nice and quiet but I like a little more support especially on steam side hilling and when it comes to packing out meat. I pack out at least some of the meat the first trip. you might look at the Lapnia for a little more ground feel. If I really need to get sneaky I take my boots off. Tyler!

How are they for wide feet? Most times I find a boot it’s to narrow in the toe box

I have a question for all those out there that may know. I have had issues with plantar fasciitis in my right foot. And I seem to make it worse because I will step wrong and feel like I twist my actual heel and then I’m down for a day and it just hurts constant. I own a pest control company and am out working every day. So looking for a good boot that locks in that heel well.

Look at the Crispi's with the abss system. this system adds memory foam around the ankle.

Could you go deeper into why you prefer synthetic over leather? I’m currently going back and forth between Colorado II and Nevadas. I like that the Nevada’s aren’t as stiff, but they’re almost all leather. In this scenario, why do you prefer the synthetic Colorado’s? Thanks!

I think Dan is an archery guy…early season stuff more mild weather. I run Lapponias Nevadas and Wildrocks. All weather dependent.
@Rugged_Peaks_Media

I run the insulated nevadas during September moose season here in Alaska for the pure reason it's always wet and cold. I run the synthetic boots for spring and summer due to my feet sweat all the time no matter what. But spring and summer when I'm active the synthetic let my feet breathe and they aren't so hot. So depending on what Temps and weather you're hunting in also depends whether you should get synthetic or leather. Hope this helps

Any input on comparison between Altitude GTX and Lipponia ii GTX? I am stuck in between. These are I believe the 2 lightest most flexible option from Crispi. Anyone prefer the Altitude over Lipponia
@awiegwa
@awiegwa Жыл бұрын
Look at the midsole - Altitude has polyurethane where the Lapponia has EVA...this becomes a factor when you weigh about 200pds as EVA does not last very long in that situation. So if you are heavy then shop for boots with the polyurethane midsole unless you find the EVA ones cheap (since EVA will just compact/mush out pretty fast then).

For me, La sprortiva has best support. Crispi has best waterproof, Kenetrek has best comfort. I think souls are a bit too soft on Kenetrek (great for grip but early wear)

Anyone have suggestions for size 15 or 16's besides Kenetreks and Lowa's? Crispi's are missing some business. Was also looking at Lathrop and Sons, but they are the most expensive and now reasonable shipping policies

This is Tyler...I have had some of the same problems with sweaty feet...although maybe not as bad as you. I look for a boot that doesn't have Gore tex in them. The Crispi Anchor point is a boot that might work for you but is designed for woodland firefighting. Also I try and air my feet out mid day and or change socks. I am currently trying some alpaca socks that might work a little better than merino but the jury is still out on that. I hope this helps. Tyler.

@@ELKSHAPEGEAR Indeed sir. When I was young i knew getting premium boots where the way to go… last longer, feels better and that meant more time afield…. However my budget said otherwise. When I did get my first taste of a premium boot, I’ve never looked back. I’ve also made semi-premium boot feel and last just as well as high end… you get top of the line cleaning and waxing tools, high end insoles or orthotics…. Learning how to tie boots that help with form and fit…But that extra money for that puts you into that premium category.
