I am so glad you do pokemon content now. When I threw in the towel with magic and jumped to pokemon about 3 months ago you were genuinely one of the youtubers I was sad about not watching anymore. Can't wait for more content.

I was just wanting to get into Pokémon after seeing your video on it. I don’t know if you mentioned this channel in that video but if you did I missed it. That said the excitement when I recognized your voice as soon as I started this video. Much love Dev.

Shroodle/Graffiti maybe the better alchremie deck Edit. In the snorlax cherrim deck you want a two/two cherrim line. Path/iono/judge are your lock outs for rule box decks i.e arceus decks, Lugia deck or any radiant support in the meta. You could play ultra balls or capturing aroma for additional search
@beuks4478 Жыл бұрын
For the snorlax deck I would recommend ultra ball as it provides better ball search, and helps thin the hand for bibarel. For united wings (United wings has been my favorite deck since it came out) even though it makes it in range of greninja playing ralts and kirlia is so much better, and we have manaphy. It allows us to also play 1 copy of gallade from astral radiance which has luminion's ability every turn on a stage 2 single prize pokemon allowing for searching for boss for game, and its only like 70 cents.

Awesome video!!! I just got into Pokémon tcg and this video was really refreshing bc it feels like most other places ppl are only talking about the same like 10 decks. I love talking about the meta but it’s very refreshing to see some variety and innovation as well. Ty for all of the explaining as well! I feel like I have a good grasp on these decks for if I ever see them in ladder.

Loving the Pokémon content, Dev. Thanks to my kiddos, I sort of took a head first dive into the TCG right around when you did, been having a blast. Regret not learning how to play back when I was kid collecting during the Base Set. Opened some cards and wound up getting my favorite boy Clodsire ex and put together a fun deck with Raticates. Been fun building around Pokémon you like and enjoy.

Dev you should link this new channel on your community tab of the main channel or add it to the channels’ list at least. With all what is going on with Magic and Yugioh, I find Pokemon to be in such a great spot as of late. It’s truly an amazing game and modern gameplay with abilities and special rule boxes on cards just added to its appeal.

This is great! I’m still incredibly new to the hobby. Actually played for the first time in person yesterday, but found out my deck was illegal. I hadn’t heard of the lettering component, and half my deck was “D” haha. That was a bummer, so looking for new stuff! These are great recs!

For the Snorlax deck: I think you can cut 1-1 or 2-2 of the 🍒🌸 to add 1-1 or 2-2 Oinkologne ex (which is still a budget card) to use against the Lost Box matchup instead. With it's bulkier HP, Lost Box has trouble getting through it compared to Snorlax. Throw in either Cheren's Care or Cheryl too and it will just not die. You can then easily power them back up as usual.
@ihaveanamewow1983 Жыл бұрын
it should be fine against lost box already if you add just 1 manaphy

I really like your thinking in this video. It's a bit different than a lot of the existing videos geared towards the Pokemon TCG which primarily just have rehashes of decks that won in tournaments, with the idea that just taking a deck already made by a pro level player is a better idea, since they likely have a lot more experience building decks than you. I just wonder if in some ways when we take it all as gospel because of tournament results, means we're carrying a lot of baggage on that people don't realize. I've just noticed there's a lot less Johnny's and more Spikes here, as I remember showing someone at my local game store a Radiant Steelix deck I made for lols and they just were like 🤨. Something a lot of people are realizing is that Worlds and the CP grind seems to be the main focus for most playing, so I think there can be a lot of growth in more casual forms of play, like GLC.

I kinda miss when there were enough Pokemon to comfortably fit in a rap. But then we wouldn't have Absol, so I guess there are pros and cons to everything
@goldglovegrappler1382 Жыл бұрын
There's a card in recent translations that gives a single prize card +100HP in exchange for becoming a 2-prizer. I do think that budget decks like these could benefit a lot from that bulk while still focusing on 1-prize.

Cool! United Wings seems really fun going to have to try it! It reminds me of the Braixen/Delphox deck i have been running to some success. Especially late game when all the Serena's is in the discard pile you can start one shotting 2 prizers and sometimes can lead to fun comebacks. Also Mimikyu is the best, i run in tag team with Noivern ex and slow things down and eventually beat my opponent.

I think the new Grafaiai is a better alternative to Alcremie. It did very good in a Japanese event, because it hits weakness vs Gardevoir ex and Mew VMAX and with all the retrieval cards in format, it's super good

how about running 1 or 2 ho-oh V's from silver tempest in the alcremie deck? Since the deck already runs a lot of different energy it would make ho-oh really strong and it would have great synergy with the alcremie.

I feel like Zorobox is really good for how inexpensive it is. The most expensive cards in the deck are V.I.P Pass and Squawk ex if you want to to play it. With Obsidian Flames the deck now has a response to lost box in Scizor and Headquarters. Its the deck I'm thinking of playing until rotation.
@Ejb5154 Жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea! And with 151, the new Aerodactl could be added to beat Charizard. Do you have a deck list you have been trying?
@dandok3996 Жыл бұрын
@Ejb5154 yeah but lost box is its worst match up by far. Still tinkering around with what version to play. Scizor seems good but is really reliant on luminous energy and has little switching outs etc

Okay so I'm helping teach some of the younger players at my local pokemon group. The problem is I currently dont own any decks that aren't total overkill. (Mew Vmax, Gardevoir ex, etc.) I'm currently looking for a deck, that while isn't bad isn't so overpowered that the simpler decks that the kids are building are going to automatically lose the moment I get all my prizes. I was thinking maybe rapid strike but idk, just looking for ideas
@violetto3219 Жыл бұрын
these decks look fun, and i'll probably try them out, though i would criticise that the cards are like impossible to read in your video. don't exactly know what you can do about that
