Coldest game I ever went to was a Thursday night Bills game a couple years ago vs the Dolphins. It dropped down to around 6 degrees that night which is pretty typical up here in Buffalo. It was so cold I could've keyed someone's car with my nipples lol.

I had a horse and since turnout was limited I needed to drag my ass to the barn, which was heated, and ride to giv4 the horse exercise...but the indoor was like a tent and a very high ceiling and not flat...great for summer heat, but the heat in there was just wasted as it was too big and too high to heat.

That '07 Giants team, man. Look at the road that they took to their title. They had to get in via the Wild Card due to their 10-6 record, and had to play all their post season games on the road. They had to beat the Bucs in Tampa in the Wild Card, then they had to beat the Cowboys in Dallas in the Divisional Round, then they had to play the Packers in Green Bay, in January, for a chance to play in Super Bowl XLII. Where the 18-0 Patriots were waiting for them. I think only Odysseus in Homer's 'The Odyssey' had a harder trip to the promised land. 😲

#4 was played only two years ago (Sunday 1/10/16) in the NFC Divisional Round outdoors in Minnesota. The new dome was being built and Seattle won 10-9 over the Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium (home of the Golden Gophers) via a chip shot miss by Blair Walsh and the temperature at kickoff was minus 6.

I was at Gillette Stadium January 10th 2004 for a playoff game between the Patriots and Air McNair's Titans.... *the coldest game on record at the stadium to this day!.* WIND CHILL WENT DOWN TO -15 DEGREES F, ironically the only reason I got to be there (at the 50 yard line 4 rows behind the Titans bench) was because my dad refused to go in that weather and gave me his ticket!!! The tailgate sucked so bad because you couldn't take your gloves off for more than a couple minutes without your hands chapping in actual pain (once your hands are frozen it's tough to warm them back up even with thick gloves). Once inside the stadium, newly-purchased beers were freezing into a slush-like consistency in the short amount of time it took for the buyer to return to back to their seats. If they didn't drink the brew quickly enough, the slush got thick enough that it wouldn't flow out of the bottle!! Just crazy to see! The Pats won on a Vinetari kick of course, but the experience was rough overall. By the end of the game my feet were frozen to the point I worried about frostbite, the foot-warmer packets didn't provide enough warmth for long enough. It was bittersweet but I was still grateful to get the free ticket!! My advice is that layering up is great and all, but be sure to have enough warming packets for your extremities .

@@bkr1895 That can easily happen in Wisconsin. I remember winter 2014 was 3-4 months of-20 to -30 as regular temps with constant -55 to -60 wind chill. I had to ride my horse in that as turnout was limited and even though the barn was heated as was the arena, the arena covering was different than every other barn and had a super high tent like ceiling so the heat from the heaters just rose and was non-existent. It was sucky and brutal riding in that.

I played a game in College (small school), and this particular season, both of our starting Safeties were on IR, and both of their backups got injured in practice leading up to this game... I was a WR who had not found much playing time as a Freshman that year, so, in desperation, our Defensive Coordinator asked me if I had ever played Safety before. I said that I had and Presto... I am starting at Safety next game! It was against a team that ran the Wishbone/Triple Option, so not much worry about their QB slinging the ball all over the place. However, the Game Time Temperature was 19° and dropping fast! The wind was just evil that afternoon/evening. It HURT. Then, to top it off, there was a mixture of snow and sleet! I spent most of the 2nd Quarter with my back to the wind and snow and sleet... By the time we went in for Halftime, I had a literal sheet of ice covering the entire back of my legs, from ankle to ass. I will never, EVER complain about being "to warm" ever again. The final word we got was that, with the wind chill, the temperature had gone Below Zero.

I watched the Packers/Giants game in the parking lot of a bar called The Broke Spoke in Kiln, Mississippi. They had big screen tv's and bleachers set up outside. They had great food and drinks,, all free.. Kiln is where Farve is from. In the end all the girls were crying, and I think I was too.

Coldest game I attended was the final game at the old Meadowlands Jets Vs Bengals. January 3 2010. It was cold but the wind chill made it very uncomfortable if you weren’t dressed right. The game decided if the Jets :add the playoffs that year. They won 37-0. Great times.

At the time, I simply just thought it was a really cold game and that games like this were just uncommon up in Green Bay. I was at the packers 49ers 2013 playoff game at lambeau, it was right around 0 degrees but the wind chill was ridiculous. I had 2 hand warmers in my gloves and boots and my fingers and toes were still numb all game. Luckily the tightly packed crowd ups the temp like 5 degrees at least

I have been to some cold games, both NFL and college, but none as cold as those 3. But I was at a game that was literally played in a near white out blizzard. December 14, 1969, SF 49ers at Minn Vikings at old Metropolitan Stadium (the real frozen tundra). Huge heavy white out snowstorm so thick you could not see the yardlines on the field, or any green grass for that matter. It was all white. I was 10 years old and distinctly remember as I walked into the Met the distinctive vivid contrast between the Vikings royal purple uniforms and horned helmets against the blanket of white snow during pregame. The Vikes, as always, played with NO heaters on their sideline per Bud Grant. I was in football heaven as a 10 year old kid (w Dad). I was of course all bundled up and I remember we shared blankets with the people we sat next to who shared season tix w my dad, and people shared hot chocolate in thermos' etc. Almost everyone had those one piece snowmobile outfits. The game was full of fumbles and turnovers as the players had trouble even running on the snow, so the game was low scoring and sloppy, but my Vikes won 10-7 on a late bomb from Joe Kapp to Gene Washington (my fav Viking along with Alan Page) which completely surprised SF. I cherish my memories of that game. Has to be one of the heaviest snowfall games while the game is being played ever. I've only seen a few Buffalo games on TV which came close. Add-Pro Football Reference says the temp was 22, which is not too bad for Dec in Minn, although with all that snow it FELT a lot colder (wind and swirling up in the second deck), and sure enough, with wind chill it was 9 degrees. Box score is funny, Kapp of the Vikings was 4 for 10 for 82 yards, almost all on the one 50+ yard TD to Washington.They ran all game, 38 times. Steve Spurrier! was 26 for 48 for 292 yards so they threw a lot, and threw 3 INT. Plus SF fumbled 5 times with 8 fumbles altogether in the game. SF only gained 12 yards rushing. That win was the 12th in a row for the Vikes, which set a new NFL record at that time for consecutive wins. Awesome.

I attended the Raiders/Browns 1981 Playoff Game of -1 degrees (-36 wind chill). Luckily, I wore my NASA Astronaut suit which handles conditions in outer space of -455 degrees Fahrenheit so I didn’t have any issues that day.

I went to the vikings/ Seahawks play off game last winter which was -6° farenheight which was the third coldest game in nfl history. ironically that game was literally the day after they uploaded this video so it wasn't on the list.
