Hi Dimitris. Quick question. My husband has done about 7 lessons so far from mid November til now. He had a good 'report card' from LingoAce and got his statement of what his pay should be in mid December. But he noticed that some lessons that were on his roster were removed (about 5 - including one that was a longer term booking; for the longerterm one the kid was literally falling asleep and had his chin rested on his hands so you couldn't see him talking and his mother agreed that he was extra tired that day and multiple future lessons for the kid were removed right away). My question is - do you notice that you sometimes have bookings disappear from your roster with no explanation? Also wondering - so far there is only one booking for the end of December, are you finding it slow at the moment also? Thanks!

Hi there! Yes, the december and January period is a bit slow. Actually on Lingoace for reasons im not aware of there are periods of intense work and periods of little work. As far as the removals go, yes, this is typical and happens all the time. If you have an appointment canceled within 24 hours, until just this month, you’d be required to report it on ‘Teams’ and you’d be paid half the lesson pay, anything past 24 hours is not compensated however. But they have adjusted and now you no longer need to report. Sometimes things like this happen in class, just try your best and attemot to engage the student for a while. You can report these things in Teams as well, sometimes something can be done but often not. Anyway i hope this answers all your questions!

Hi Dimitri--can you recommend a TEFL accredited course that will be meet the requirements of companies hiring for English teachers but that won't break the bank? Are there any free courses perhaps? thanks!

Honestly any will do. They really dont care as long as you have one. I recommend you find one that is online, self paced, and between 50-150$. Theres no free course that counts as far as im aware. But the one I used in the past is now much more expensive. I hope you can find one though, dont stress too much about it.

You’re very welcome! Yes i believe they are accepting applications. You can use the link in the description for a better chance of being hired. My tip is to practice and regearse a good introduction video and have an educational background.

@danielrose6288 great! As long as you have a good video and can put on a nice mock lesson you shouldnt have any trouble!

@@dimitristravelandtips So there is a live component? Can you retry if you fail? How long did it take to get hired start to finish? Do they give you students or do you have to book your own?

Its not really that kind of platform. They make the plan but you can feel free to teach however you like. Its better if you want to do freestyle teaching or conversational teaching. But lesson plans idk how well it will work on that one. I recommend volunteering at a church or something like that if you want real world experience like that

What about experience teaching online without a degree how would I go about that? I'm a NES from USA with a TEFL

@HsheBss then probably cambly is your best bet. But really most of the jobs require a degree in anything. It doesnt need to be English

Good video Dimitris. My husband was just accepted at LingoAce after applying thru your link. Wondering if you feel that you are getting plenty of work from them - ie, how many hours a week are you getting? Or, do you feel that you need to be registered with several of these platforms at once to get enough hours? thanks!
@dimitristravelandtips
@dimitristravelandtips Ай бұрын
The hours are sometimes a little seasonal so its best to have 2 platforms unless you live in a timezone near China. Otherwise you should have one in asia, one in a western country, or simply use this as a side job. However after a few months you can easily and quickly receive MANY students. Happy to hear about the acceptance, congratulations 🎈🍾 Enjoy ☺️

@@dimitristravelandtips What are the quieter months with them? Do you have a link to apply to their math tutoring division also as he wants to apply for this too?

@@WeDidntExpectthis You know im not totally sure as it seems to just randomly happen, i wish i had a better answer. As for math, i dont have a link however, Here is the link if you'd like to apply to Booknook, i think it is a good balance between the two, and Booknook is a higher pay with less work kind of job in my opinion. wrkbl.ink/8KOxsB0
