Although the GMP does not guarantee profits, IPO flipping still works. We need to consider the percentage of successful trades based on GMP which certainly has been a convincing number in recent times.

Demotivation not always work. Agar aapki soch esi hai ki me hi rich banunga baaki sab garib hi rahe to ha yeh video sahi hai. Baaki pesa banane waale to bana ke nikal lenge. Bajajhousing to 300% banane wala hai.

How does GMP affect green market? how does it affect listing price? how is the listing price set?

GMP, or Grey Market Premium, gives an idea of how much buzz there is around an IPO before it officially lists. If the GMP is high, it shows people are excited, but it doesn't guarantee the stock will list at a higher price or give listing gains. The actual listing price depends on the demand when the stock starts trading. Even if the GMP is high, the stock might not always go up on listing day.

I disagree with this. While I agree few stocks listed in negative but that is less than 5% of total IPOs. Most of the grey market premium is true. If you want to minimise your risk, apply IPOs whose grey market premium is greater than 30%. As you said, if fundamentals are good and company is listed at reasonable valuation, we can hold it for long term. But most of the time, it is always beneficial to sell with in a week of listing.
