Lol you're absolutely right about those ugly chrome bits. Not being racist but some group of owners really love chrome and even gold bits. Makes it look like a Chinese temple or Indian temple.

Interesting takes guys, but I think these are mostly taste than anything. I would say the real stuff to skip on your new car are things like snake-oil (all those "Nano-technology Air Intake Stickers" that clearly don't work) and cheap/"replica" parts (can be anything from cheap bodykits which just look ugly to "replica" wheels that are actually dangerous)

I believed years ago ppl also did the installation of aftermarket sunroof which they need to cut open their roof. If it doesnt do a good job, leaking would be a issue. For the BBK cover , it is more to visual as ppl cannot or do not want to fork up a few Ks to do it, they just installed the cover. It will definately cause the brake caliper to perform badly if over heated due to heat unable to disperse effectively n alot of brake dust will be trapped inside. Overall its a educational episode.. as some of thr mods you mentioned i did it before when i got my 1st car. So it is a good advice to those 1st time owning a car... I believed its a bucket list for all 1st time car owner...

Not sure if it's a mod, my only mod to my mazda6 2019 standard is just to change the halogen bulb to LED. Can't stand the halogen DRL when the headlights are LED also...

Car is a personal thing, people do what they want to feel happy. Some ridiculous stuff evolve into a whole new culture and that’s why makes the scene interesting. It’s not good to judge people they are not doing crime. You see it right here on your video, one moment you judge people, next moment they judge back something you do (bodykit?) and your face change immediately. Be kind people.

You guys did James dirty. After Julian mentioned body kits, James looked upset. LOL! Anyway, I believe not everyone buys a car for performance. Some bought one for aesthetics(those Ah Pek driving Mercedes). To me, body kit is totally fine. It can make the car more sexy or fierce. Below is my top 3 mods to skip in sequence. 1) Remapping/ECU flash/Tuning 2) Tilted incline wheels(Negative chamber) 3) Exhaust speakers Reasons 1) Some car parts are designed to withstand certain amount of torque and bhp. By increasing the amount of either one of them, it'll reduce the LONGEVITY of the engine and other parts drastically. Having said that, not all remaps/reflash/tuning are bad. Some get better gas mileage and smoothness across all RPM after doing so. Just don't go full retard. 2) I think slanted wheel looks wicked if done tastefully. Just that, some went to the extreme and make the car look ridiculously silly. 3) RICER

I think wide body kits should be used on cars, where you upgrade your run or tire size, such as you go from a 300 to 355 rear set up and a 300 in the front, then you should get a body kit, and some aero. But just keep it tasteful lah

my top 3: 1. Fake/real carbon fiber parts, ESPECIALLY the bonnet. You are not a racer. You don't need the weight savings on your Honda Jazz. 2. Oversize rims, especially replica ones which hinder performance and may even pose a danger if they fail. 3. Gaudy racing decals especially chrome ones which distract other road users.

@@jameskarlchan while I agree with what most you guys mentioned, I don't quite agree that Strut bars or Anti roll bars are useless. But I'm glad that Idris did point out the usefulness of the strut bars and he mentioned one of the first upgrade would probably be the rear ARB and the tower struts, he really knows his stuff! But then I cringed when Julian mention "exhaust pipes". Its actually the muffler that is the culprit for loud noise. I also dun quite agree with bodykits...lol cos they simply make the car look cool! Apart from my top 3 useless mods which are basically "snake oils", I realised "replica rims from taiwan" are not mentioned. These fake rims are much cheaper and tempting but they are heavier and weaker than the original. Some have serious quality issues that will damage your car alignment and wheel bearings. They should be avoided. Overall a good episode. Enjoyed this one.
