If you're interested in my aquatic plants, visit my website! One day I'll make a nice aquascape. Would you be interested in an aquascape video? Plants can be shipped throughout Canada. In the winter, most of Qc and Ontario only (until I figure out a good way to get the plants safely in the rest of Canada). ►www.quebec-cichlides.com/aquatic-plants

@andrewgoldfish6 жыл бұрын
Yup, anubias and java fern tied to driftwood have survived my 4 years with goldfish as well. They pulled up the vals though once they got bigger. Only big Amazon swords have stayed rooted. Thanks for the video. Don't forget floating plants as well, or do those not work well with cichlides?

Hi Richelle, nice vid! have you tried the Congo Fern bolbitis heudelotii with africans? Just saw some and they look amazing! but I´m worried my Tropheus and Mbuna will make short work of it, specially since it´s not cheap! btw those Brichardi look stunning, keep the good vibe coming!
@QuebecCichlides6 жыл бұрын
Some species of bolbitis can be used in such water parameters (even brackish) but I wouldn't know about their behavior. I haven't tried it in an Mbuna tank yet. Brichardi look fabulous in a planted tank. That's archive footage from a while back when I went crazy and filled the tank with giant anubias. I'm glad you liked it. :)

my peacocks like to pick at my java fern, and destroyed the valisenaria i put in there, seems like its a few certain fish, or the big males trying to eliminate hiding spots for the others. the bunch of hornwort i threw in there on the other hand is pretty ;much untouched

Hi, how many watts do african cichlid need with those plants? Thanks
@gordonspears63203 жыл бұрын
I've kept Vallisenaria americana in a tank with Malawi cichlids. I harvested the plants from my neighborhood lake in Florida, so I was not much concerned if they survived. I found that some of the cichlids did try to uproot them, and the plants float if they are not rooted or at least weighed down with rocks. So overall, I don't think V. americana and Malawi cichlids are compatible.

Rakesh m been trying to do a planted tank with my goldfish for several years. Tried about everything. The fish will destroy it all. The only thing that slows it is to keep it stocked with duckweed. Oh and the people that say you’ll never get rid of it and it propagates so fast you have to keep removing it have never had my fish in there tank. Lol
