Hello! You can either apply on paper or online. I’ll leave the decision for you to choose. Based on the update about the processing times, applying on paper is faster than applying online. But both ways doest not guarantee that you could get the result or approval fast. 😉 You may contact IRCC or send a webform about it, if you think you’ll be applying online or on paper they can give you a guided intructions about it too. ☺️

My pgwp expired on July 9th due to passport expiry. Sent my first extension application on June 20th and second on July 10th via letter but no response from customer service. I initially tried doing it online but they don’t allow extensions through online. Today the customer rep asked me to ‘courier’ a third application with the status restoration amount 384$. I have my TRV on the passport but I was told I can’t stay in the country for more than 90 days after the pgwp expiration. I’m so worried and nervous. Can you please help

Can the PGWP extension (due to prior passport expiration) be applied outside Canada? I am confused because the application form generated for the application (IMM 5710) lists the current place of residence as 'Canada' which can not be changed. I can not reach out to IRCC as well since the number can be reached only within Canada and the email response was generic. Specifically, Should I be submitting the IMM 1295 (applying work permit outside Canada) or IMM 5710 (applying for work permit in Canada applicants) form when applying for a post-graduate work permit extension (due to prior passport expiry) while residing outside of Canada?

I have a question: after we apply for a PGWP, we receive a letter of work authorization indicating that we are permitted to work until,say, March 7,2023, or until a decision is made on your application, WHICHEVER IS FIRST. what does that mean? Hi @RyBQ you need to apply for your new passport asap. Once you applied for your extension, you should be getting the remainder or your pgwp in which I assumed it will based on the date your pgwp was issued. So let’s say you got your pgwp issued last year Nov then chances are you’re getting the pgwp validity date till Nov of this year.

Paper based application is always like this. Reason I would recommend applying online so you get at least a notification that they received your application. Just wait for your paper based application, do not reapply. If you reapply online it may confused them plus it can get worst.

You can apply for the extension of your pgwp due to passport expiry as soon as you have your new passport with you. Just keep in mind that you have to pay for the same process fee.

Hi there. I applied my pgwp extension by MAIL and its been three months now that they did not sent me any application number or any email regarding my file. The processing time is exceed as well as its showing 60 days processing time in the website. When i try to add link my application in GCKEY its showing that there is no information found. I have no idea that did they opened my file yet or not. OR did they recieved my file or what ? I can only track my canada post courier and its showing that they delivered. Hi dear, just be patient about your application. It is one of the disadvantages of applying on paper as you just have to wait for the result without any prompt update. In order to find the progress or update about it, you have to send a webform to IRCC asap. I would suggest to not apply online as you already applied on paper. You will received it soon! 🙏🏼

I think if you try putting Canada as your country of issuance it will show an error and it will not validate the form as it happens to me too. You need to put your home country which is IND bcos technically they made the passport in your home country which is in India they just issued or gave your passport thru embassy here in Canada.

Currently paper application is the fastest but if you look into the details it is still depends on your application submission. I would still recommend applying online however you are more than welcome to apply on paper as well. I’ll leave that decision for you. 😉
