Grew up in a house that was right on the edge of a pretty big patch of woods, but was also next to a main road with a strip mall and a bunch of restaurants and businesses. The woods were peaceful (but also kind of scared me when I was a young child lol) but there were always people around due to the mall, and there were lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance.

The last one sounds, to me, like an Old Hag. Google it. They sit on your chest, while you are essentially paralyzed, and torment you. Wiggling a toe or a finger is said to break you free of its grasp. It's directly connected to sleep paralysis and is also referred to as 'Old Hag Syndrome.' Truly terrifying stuff.

Oh my God.. this happened to me and I felt someone sit on my chest ..I was non religious ..but my mom was ..when this happened I could feel someone sit on my chest and I clearly could feel two fingers above my eyelids forcing my eyes to close..I could hear her shouting and grunting..then suddenly I could feel the grip slowly weaken soo my dumbass tried to jump out of bed and give one big sucker punch cause idk at that moment I had no fear it was pure rage ..idk why..the rage I could feel was from inside..then a picture frame of God which my mom hung above my bed fell on my head ..then I woke up

Sleep paralysis is so very real & scary when it gets really bad. I've had so many of those experiences & i have a stress relief routine before bed now to try & avoid it from happening too often... & it will make you feel you're losing your mind.

I live in the Canadian Rockies and have a sort of set up like this. It is not super normal for people to show up at all to the point where you DO get curious when an unrecognized person or vehicle shows up but generally we also have arms and for all the people I know we will arm and go check it out. 99% of the time its someone asking about something on the land or just asking for directions. Had a guy ask to buy our fence posts once too lol. I will tell you one thing though, out here in the woods away from civilization it gets sooooo quiet at night it is eerie, the silence is deafening. Also it's not because we handle our own we dont call the cops, we handle our own because the cops are very very far from these areas, at least 40minute drive from here going fast.

@@scotthill1600 Definitely! the most dangerous animal we have is the Cougar, which stalks you until its ready to attack! But Guns are good to have for all reasons. It is a huge misconception that Canada doesnt allow firearms, we most definitely do :)

God, I hate HATE HATE Sleep Paralysis. Every time it's the same shit with a different demon. I don't say this to be funny it has been a different demon each time, one time it talked to me because I refused to open my eyes, it was laughing and it circled my bed with what sounded like heels hitting hardwood floor but I have carpet. Thankfully I have never had the demon attack me, it rushed me once but it never did try to sit on my chest/prevent me from breathing. At least there is that

I had what felt like a some big weight like someone was sitting on my chest but there was nothing on me, went to sit up but couldn’t move besides blinking and looking around. That’s when I saw a figure on the side of my bed, so tall like a basketball pro yet so slim and seemed like they were wearing a black robe like they were the grim reaper. I couldn’t look straight at it but only in my peripheral vision because I was so scared I mean a stranger was in the house standing over me on my bed side just watching me sleep. I kept my eyes barley open so they didn’t know I was awake just horrifying. I didn’t know if it was a real person that broke in or a demon, the devil. It had such a sinister feeling that overwhelmed me with dread, I was so panicked like is this thing real and if it is, is it a real person or demon. Or have I gone crazy. I just overwhelmed with this feeling that it was evil and so it could hurt me and I couldn’t move to even do anything For the longest time I didn’t tell anyone worried I was crazy until couple years later I heard about sleep paralysis which fit everything I experienced which was such a relief. Oof sorry it happens to u a lot, I hear there’s things that cause it and what u can do to prevent it like getting 8 or so hours of sleep

I was in my bed and I had a dream I was in a massive dark lit warehouse and I lost my movement when this faceless creature/demon seen me and ran so fast to me. I was attacked and woke up breathing like crazy, sweaty. I couldn’t go back to sleep until there was sunlight outside. 💯

I kind of want to research the history of the land where the first apartment is. I do believe in the paranormal and if there was a tragic event on that land, and is haunted, the mom could have developed an attachment. Or, not likely in the eyes of skeptics but still something I believe in, the mom could have abilities. Psychics/mediums/whatever are believed to have an issue where until they learn to control their abilities, intense emotions can create poltergeists. Poltergeists, despite the German translation meaning "noisy ghost" were never alive. Basically, if strong emotions could form something with pseudo-consciousness, that is a poltergeist.

The first story with the cousin who refused to stay at that house again, reminded me of my grandfather's house, which we should've nicknamed "the friend repeller". Whenever my brother or I would bring a friend there to sleep over, they would eventually run out of the house in the middle of the night, leave and never come back again. I don't remember why my brother's friend rode off on his bike at night, cause he'd stayed there pretty frequently and would've gotten used to the frequent footsteps from the hallway and the attic, as well as the TV randomly turning on or off. Maybe I was told and later forgot. Regardless, nothing ever technically happened there, physically. The most frightening incident was on a bright, sunny weekend morning when my grandfather was out grocery shopping, my mother was doing homework in her room down the long-ass hallway and I was sitting in the living room on the opposite end of the hallway, eating cereal and watching cartoons. I heard 3 gentle knocks on a far-away door, followed by the vague sound of my mother's voice. I thought nothing of it and just kept eating. Less than 30 seconds later, I heard 3 harder knocks, hard enough that I could hear that 1. It's the kind of knocking you get when you close your fist and knock with your uh... mid-finger joints, y'know and 2. the knocking was on my mother's door, specifically. Right as I'd heard it, I turned around and looked into the hallway as I once again heard my mother, this time louder and fairly agitated shouting "come in". No one was there, so I was confused and figured my mother for some reason was knocking on her own door, even though it made no sense and then why would she shout "come in"? It was odd enough, that I kept staring into the hallway for about 15 seconds, before finally turning back to the cartoon. I then heard 3 more knocks so hard and so loud, that I swear I felt the vibrations from the living room and it startled me so much, I spilled some of my cereal over myself. As quickly as I could, I stared into the hallway once again, as my mother was angrily shouting what could best be translated to "COME IN, ALREADY!". That knocking didn't sound like finger knuckles, but rather like someone was *pounding* on the door with the *side* of their fist. At that point, I was genuinely afraid, but I felt compelled to go down there. Albeit very slowly, cause I was afraid if something could happen to me if I got near the source of that aggressive knocking/pounding. I practically inched down the looooong hallway, staring the whole time between my mother's door near the end and the far end, where the hallway turned right, leading to my bedroom. I peeked into my bedroom, to see if anyone was somehow there. Nothing. I then practically slow-mo'ed to my mother's nearby door, not daring to knock before entering (I figured she'd had her share of door-knocking) and only barely daring to even touch the door handle. Carefully opening it, I saw my mother at her desk, staring daggers straight through me with a tight jaw. Through clenched teeth, she said "why did you keep knocking on my door...? You know my homework is very important...", but I was completely frozen in confusion and fear. All I could studder out was "I... I did-... I thought it was you", while looking frantically between her, the door and the hallway behind me. She first looked confused, but surprisingly quickly, her face transitioned into a combination of fear and understanding. "I understand", she replied calmly. "Don't think about it too much". I was still somewhat in shock, so I couldn't say anything and turned to leave, but then my mother added "... don't tell grandpa". I've always wondered if the people who bought the house when my grandfather had to move into a nursing home ever experienced anything there or if the people living there now are the same people who originally bought it from him. I'm too anxious and socially awkward to ask, even though my brother and I occassionally drive by on our way to go fishing at the nearby beach. Bah... Guess it doesn't matter, in the end.

I’ve had these sleep paralysis nightmares before. It happened in my bedroom, pitch black, couldn’t move while something wiggled it’s way under my locked door. At first this figure started blocking the light under my door until finally it blocked all the light then suddenly the light started to shine. I knew whatever was wiggling under my door was now in my pitch black room with me but I didn’t know where so at first I stayed quiet. After a minute or so I finally said hello and as soon as I said that, I felt hands grab me by the neck and push me back. That’s when I woke up. Needles to say I stayed up the rest of the night and went along my day.

I had sleep paralysis with my face buried in the pillow. It lasted half an hour but I was convinced I was dead and that there was no afterlife. I couldn't breathe or move in the slightest. Then I got up and it wasn't a dream I just couldn't move or breathe. That was the first time I experienced it. When I get sleep paralysis it's normally during the day so it's bright. I don't see figures or hear noises I'm just dead. I can't move, breathe, blink, or look around. I've never woken up from it either I just randomly gather all my senses. I can have dreams and wake up without the ability to do anything. I don't even have to fall asleep twice I was laying down watching something and boom I can't breathe or move, the tv still plays but I can't hear it. Worst experiences ever my eyes always burn, my mouth is dry, and it's hard to breathe when I can move

To tell you the truth I laughed when kidd said we don't want to talk about your situation GET OUT but then I remember so many stories that I have about things like this like one time this thing was holding me down and yall when I say I was crying and screaming for Jesus and that thing would not lose🤧I felt me life slipping away from me and it had me so tight I started to give up and I heard the devil say yeah thats it let go and just at that moment God said you need to change for I have work for you the devil said right after God and said you don't need to change and before he could finish I started screaming and I was released so the point I am trying to make is things like this don't happen for no reason when you see spirits are after you there is an attack that the devil has placed over your life 🥰🥰

A bit of advice if you ever experience sleep paralysis: Don't open your eyes. Your brain is still somewhat asleep, and so you will see stuff that is not there. I have not heard of auditory hallucinations from sleep paralysis but that apparently can happen.
