Yep. If you watch Riders and Defenders of Berk, you'll see that the Screaming Death is a Titan Wing, mutated Whispering Death, and it's smaller, normal siblings wrecked havoc on Berk for several episodes. And yes, they hatched under Berk itself, so babies are wrecking havoc.

The skrill is so underrated like it is also very smart has the most powerful blast in the show can travel at light speed in storm which it follows around and I can also manipulate lightning and it is impossible to see in storms it is just a better bigger night fury

okay but the COOLEST deadly dragons?? -the Skrill easily gave the crew a ton of issues. Everyone calls the Night Fury the unholy off spring of lightning and death itself. But the Skrill is also a strike class dragon that channels lightning throughout its body into a charged blast. It's electric capabilities are far better than that of the Night Fury, and its deadliness is right up there. -Death Song (mystery class). The dragons are literally dragged in by its. Death song (hence the name), in which much like a spider, it encases them in amber to await being eaten. The only dragons that are immune to the song are those of poor hearing, or those with a natural lubricant that makes the amber unable to stick to their scales. The Death Song is classified as untrainable because of its instinct to trap and kill. Like hello??? That's so cool. -Here's two tidal class dragons: The Submaripper (youch) and the Shellfire. One literally causes unstoppable, inescapable whirlpools that drag everything in its immediate radius down to the jaws of the ripper. And the Shellfire is built like a military grade weapon, and is used as such, because of its ability to shoot MULTIPLE blue magma (which when related to flame, is the HOTTEST of any dragon we see), which explode upon impact. The Submaripper and the Shellfire are each others natural predators because if the sheer strength of their attacks and aggression of their personalities. Genuinly, throughout the series we see Hookfang and Toothless be treated as the most dangerous dragons- Because of a Nightmares ability to set itself on fire and its temperament, and because Toothless is fiercely protective. But then we see how they are all social dragons, and not as territorial, or nearly as aggressive as many other species. And all of the trained dragons had others at their side, constantly. (also yeah the Screaming Death is TERRIFYING. Luckily it is a social dragon due to the nature of Whispering Death's themselves. But we also know they hold a grudge, and will stop at nothing. The Screaming Death has all the resilience of every boulder class put together, and all of the stubbornness and protectiveness of the entirety of Berk. But whole species could be wiped out completely if this dragon wasn't social/family dependent)

But here's the thing, you didn't specify the environment. Toothless without Hiccup (with his tail still intact) may have been able to defeat the screaming death 1 on 1. The Alpha not only gets it's power from his size, but also controlling others. Toothless challenged the alpha, and was able to free the dragons from the alphas control. On a 1 on 1, the alpha would have taken down toothless.

I hate it when people say that the screaming death is stronger than toothless, like the toothless that fought him back in that series didn’t have the split back spines from the 2nd movie, didn’t have alpha mode (also from the 2nd movie, and also didn’t have the lightning burst thing from the 3rd movie, and on top of those 3 op abilities that he didn’t have back then, he has grown so much and become a lot stronger naturally. Also, hiccup has gotten a lot better armour and tech and stuff so he will also be much stronger. On top of all that, toothless in now the alpha, so there’s a good chance that the screaming death will legit just get mind controlled/obey toothless commands. And even if the screaming death was a baby, it is just a mutant version of a whispering death, and the httyd handbook says that whispering deaths are more dangerous as kids, because they don’t know how to use their spines/fire yet, and the same thing is probably true with the screaming death which means that it won’t get much stronger as it grows up. Toothless and hiccup win, mid-low diff. Edit: don’t get me wrong, I think that the screaming death is a very strong, powerful, cool and iconic dragon in the series, however he is nowhere as powerful as toothless.

We see this in Race to the Edge when Hiccup and Snotlout grab screaming death scales for dragon armor - the screaming death didn't remember them and tried to kill them because they were in his territory - but his mother did remember them and protected them.

for people saying that a bewilder beast can just simply control the screaming death yes that is possible as we can see in the final episode of RTTE series but the thing is it was just a newborn back then, plus technically if given the will any dragon can enter alpha mode prior to challenging an alpha, we can say that the screaming death is a god of destruction born once every 100 years btw my top favorites are screaming death, skrill, and night fury

For those asking "was it just a baby?" yes it was. That was indeed a baby and then a teen when he was eating all the islands of the archipelago like literally eating the whole islands and almost eating berk with his little brothers and then in the race to the edge you'll see it underground when Hiccup is trying to gather some of his scales to make some armor for dragons there it's massive and almost killed Hiccup and Toothless if it wasn't for Screaming Death's mother that stopped his child bcs she likes Hiccup
