Carr was born to be a raider. Fresno and Bakersfield guy who grew up loving the black and silver. He gave is everything to this franchise. I'm glad he was the last Oakland and first Vegas Raiders Quarterback. Raider Nation truly loves this guy as much as I do. I will miss him in this uniform and will continue to follow him wherever he goes. This guy has been through so much with the ruggs, AB, Jon gruden situations, team relocation. He's always maintained a selfless and positive attitude. How can you not like this guy? He puts God first and will one day be a super bowl champion. Love you DC

From my seat in the stands, Derek Carr did everything an average QB can do. Except win a playoff game.

QB's don't win or lose, teams do. A QB playing at an MVP level can and has gone 4-11 bc the team around him was so bad. Drew Brees was a pretty good QB, won plenty of playoff games. Also went 8-8 or worse almost as many times as he had winning records. Why? Saints defense was bad. Really bad. ALMOST as bad as the Raiders defense was throughout Carrs career. In fact, no QB had a worse run of defense then Carr did the Raiders. A perfect example of another QB that happened to is Stafford. He made the playoffs 3 times with lions in 11 seasons, with no wins. Goes to LA, and wins a SB his 1st year there. Why? Good team. Every QB needs a good team to be successful. That is a proven fact. Teams that stay consistently good have A. a franchise QB....and B are good at drafting, so the roster is always good. That's esp true for teams like NE with Brady (average defense rank was 7th best with Brady, best in the NFL), GB with Rodgers (average defense rank with AR, 12th (damn good for a 10+ year run). It not being better explains why Rodgers wasn't as successful as Brady despite being a better QB. In the end, team talent matters more then the QB. Terrible QB's have lead perennial contenders. Look at Mark Sanchez. He was so bad he has legendary memes about him. NYJ were in and winning in the playoffs with him tho. Great team. That's why only casual fans think QB's win or lose. The media used to paint them as heros that carry teams, not that's been proven to not be true, on every level. Carr was as successful as Raiders roster allowed him to be......which most of the time, he was elevating a 4 win level roster to being mid. Some fans think Carr was holding the Raiders back to being mid. No, he was elevating them from being a cellar dweller, exactly what they were for a decade before he got there. Put him on a good team, and his career would have been better than Wilson's (who we now know wasn't very good, just got tons of opportunities thanks to having an elite defense), or Rivers (another QB plagued by bad teams, just no where near as many as Carr had), or even big Ben (who had no idea what it was like to be on a bad team).

Been a DC fan since we drafted him. He was bashed more than any QB in the league and for no reason. Colin Cowherd did a great bit called guess the QB. He put 2 QBs stats on the screen and had you pick which QB you'd want. It highlighted how good DC really was, and it is worth a watch. DC was the glue for this team for a long time and I'm sad to see him go. I hope he finds a good team and happiness.

That Fibula injury in 2016 vs the Colts robbed them out of the AFC west crown and a potential AFC championship matchup between the Raiders vs Patriots at New England with Khalil Mack being all over Tom Brady's @ss and harassing him in the process. They would've finished the season with a 13-3 record because they would've beaten the Broncos on the road for sure...but with Carr out, the team went downhill. Like Townie from the Waterboy said "OH NO. WE SUCK AGAIN!!!!" as soon as Carr went out with that fibula injury.

TBH I think DC was the only stable thing in the Raider organization for the last 4-5 years. They had something building with him when Del Rio and company were there, then ownership decided Gruden was the Messiah who was going to raise them to a new level and frankly even before the Gruden drama you could see his system wasn't working. It was outdated and teams caught on to his smoke and mirrors scheme pretty quick. That system didn't fit Carr at all. AB's BS didn't help either. I thought when Carr had Cooper and Crabtree along with some good OLinemen they really started to make headway but all that got turned off overnight and they were never the same. I hope Carr is able to blow to doors off the league where ever he ends up cause I do think he's a better QB than he gets credit for and he's such a good guy to have represent your team, the Raiders don't and didn't deserve him I realize now.

I’ll take the house of thrills over allegiant stadium. Oakland was a special place; tailgating was genuine and you were amongst family. Also, you would never see the opposing teams take over our stadium. Yes it wasn’t glitzy like Allegiant but that was the point; why make the opposing team feel comfortable. I wasn’t there for the concessions i was there for a game.

Interesting, no matter how much Raider Nation hated McDaniels (HC), 1/2 the nation is grateful for him to get rid of Carr. Me, I was wow'd by him in a final pre-season game in his rookie season. Still a big fan. Soe says he's average, I don't I think he was a good QB for the Raiders, but put in a bad situation with no D help. Also, he was a different QB before he busted his leg, although he got a little of that old Carr back under Gruden, then well you know what happened and the rest is history.
