It doesn't say you can't activate ss monster effects DURING the turn you use the special summon effect of lode. That means that using no ss monster effects is not a activation requirement for using the ss effect of lode. It effectively means "for the rest of the turn" after you use the ss effect (even though it is worded differently). You can compare it to SP Little Knight since the wording for lode and SP are exactly the same here. Just make sure you still have princess in hand or grave when you do that, so you don't lose to nibiru (since Regulus will be turned off for the rest of the turn).
