Yes, the magnet does disturb the arc. I only have it close to the welding area for demonstration purposes, so it’s within the field of view of the camera. It doesn’t need to be so close to the weld are. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍❤️

Trying to guess where the heck you're going w/ something is as good as seeing what it is you made. I almost bought a magnetic ground a few weeks ago... now, I'm looking at the 3-4 microwave magnets that are too strong for anything else, w/ a different eye. I thought heat was hard on magnets, though... did using the TIG keep the magnet cool enough? You didn't pull on the ground cord, at all.

I applied very little heat to take the magnet appart. Just enough to soften the glue. And use mig to tack welding keeps the magnet cooler.
