Ive found the thing with making these plugins sound real is to set the flutter rate at about double the default setting and the flutter depth almost all the way down. Turn the saturation down or off, and turn the noise down so you can only hear it in the quiet part of the song. Use an eq to boost the low end slightly to simulate saturation. If it has something that messes with the frequency response turn that off too.

Thank you a lot. I've tried a bunch of tape plugins, was about o buy RC-20, but Chow Tape Model blew my mind. I use these kind of plugins for playing live guitar. Chow has ultra low latency. It is excactly what I was looking for.

I talked with the developer because I liked the V3 more than V4 (Reelbus) and it seems they're basically different algorithms. Try the V3 too because I still think it's the best emulation in regards to saturation and color that you can find!

Airwondows ToTape6, best free tape emulation period. It's better sounding than a lot of the paid emulations that I've tried, that is unless you listen with your eyes because the GUI is almost too basic.

I use Tape. One slider that's it. It can kill peaks while giving you fatness/fullness to your sounds. I use it specially on drums , acoustic gtrs and mixbus
