Me and 2 friends settled right there at 3:18 ! Metal spawns in a few areas around the river and further up the hills. There is technically 4 'paths' you can take from that little sort of cove where the river opens. As long as you dont hurl yourself off the waterfall it's actually a really nice place! We have been slowly conquering the river by advancing, then placing spike walls, then advancing again lol.

meh on the server I'm on people abused the dev failure of being able to send eggs to aberration, meaning every large tribe on the server has a shitton of wyverns, gigas and rexes :/ this kinda ruins the experience since these guys have a super easy time getting rock drake eggs, reaching the surface and so on

Note for any late comers to the video and game, the first location is not a buildable location, it's a lore location and there is quite a bit of those throughout the whole Aberration world map

Idea for next video of you make another good base location. Let people know about resources nearby rather than showing resources that will disappear when you start building. Locations are nice looking but without knowing what is nearby it leaves a lot to be desired for base making. All the resources you showed won't be there once you make a base.

The water isn't water it's molten element don't swim in it even tho it looks nice but if u have rad suit (which is nesessarg for the pink zone) or tek armour feel free I recommend tek as it fill ur tek suit's charge when u r submerged in it

There are tons of great spots above the fungal forest and near the portal. (Not the portal itself! That is how you die of basilisks.) The only problem is securing water If you build up on the natural rock bridges. Really wishing they put a moisture accumulator, even if it was a Tek item. The explorer notes talk about how moist the place is but I am having more thirst problems on Aberrations than I ever had on Scorched Earth.

if you place enough water tanks together they very very slowly gather water over time even if not connected to a water source. not the most efficient way, but helps to hide a bit if on pvp and it works for a few tribe mates to get enough water. not sure if it would work for a garden though. so more testing needed

There’s a really good base spot at 34.7 50.6, you might want to tame a spino or something in an easier area before moving here since there’s stuff like ravagers and raptors, it has easy access to the blue zone and is close to the river where a bunch of karkinos and spinos spawn

i would say best place is near the edge of green zone right next to blue zone . close to blue and red but don't need to worry about nameless or radiation. but still close enough to travel to all the zones

Umm. the first area you showed I tried building there myself. you can't place objects on the metal parts. Granted you can build on the grass areas as thats ground, but everything thats metal you can't place anything on top, limiting what you can do there. I want to know if you have taken time to test build in these areas or did you pick them because they 'looked cool' before seeing if you can build anything there? I mean the 3rd area you suggested that 'water' is deadly, it kills you fast if you fall into it, there's no building in it. The last area you showed, all the rocks with the blue in them are metal nodes. You REALLY want to be a dick and block that much metal? That would either 1. be against the rules on most servers or 2. make you target #1 for raids on pvp servers just to clear you off the spawns. ....also... safe from the nameless in the starting zone? i.imgur.com/NTbcfTW.jpg More like no.. and that was an hour into gameplay, fert 1 easy.

The metal parts, like everywhere else is in a structure prevention zone so objects can't be built on it. It's the same kind of zones caves use to stop you from building in them. That means you need custom ini to bypass it. Meaning by default, and on servers, you wont be able to build there unless they set it to allow.

Bulbpups and the new plant. Any charge glowing makes them weak. So yes you can defend with a shoulder pet and a couple on follow to keep charge light going.

Not much you can do about ravagers until you get swords and at least leather armor. At least chitin is a real option with all the bugs and crabs... again once you get swords. :/ The easy way to deal with the difficulty curve is to start on the Island or Ragnarok and migrate over once you hit a respectable level. Aberration is (story-wise) supposed to be played after you "beat the game" and ascend on the island, just like the final expansion is after you beat Aberration. Scorched Earth is a side story to explain how the ARK cluster teleporters work from a lore standpoint and give some backstory to Aberration.

Just so you know that desert looking area is currently bugged! Walking on it without god mode causes damage even on foundations and also causes your Bulbdog to attack you as well. So its not worth building in that area currently! Thats Area 2 I planned on building there but thanks to the bug and constant damage in spots it wasn't viable!

Get to the point and also test what he's showing. Area 1 you can't build on any of the metal showing. Area 3 that pink water is toxic and kills you fast, there's no building up from it or any land access in. Then the last all the rocks with blue are metal nodes. You would be blocking off one of the few huge metal node spawns, and if you're on a server that would 1. be against rules or 2. make you target #1 for raids just to clear the spawn.
