I just bantai the small nipper to cut the part from the runner because it's faster 🤣 and yep buying nipper from Mr.Diy / hardware store is cheaper than buying it in hobby store. My tips is if you have Mr.Diy around your area, better buy from there. I got Half of my tools from there for Cheaper!

I use a set of Tamya nippers, and cut the parts off about three mm from the runner/sprue, so no "nubs" really. I don't want to cut so close that I mar the part, but I don't want to spend all day cutting. I also prefer smalle pieces of wet/dry sandpaper to sanding sponges. It is easier to find and less expensive. I typically use 800 grit to remove the last of the runner nub. When I am gluing peices together, I start with wet 800 grit, then 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit. Again, wet is better because it prevents the plastic from clogging the pores in the paper. It works both better as well as faster. I keep a small wash bottle with distilled water to both wet my sandpaper, as well as to clean my airbrush and occasionally thin paint. They are inexpensive and spill-proof. I agree on the hobby knife, but if you can get them, scalpals have thinner, sharper blades. A hobby mat is a must, as well as a magnified, lighted viewer (because my eyes are bad). A month for s high grade? Talk about slowing down and enjoying it! I think the last one I built took about six or seven hours over three days, just for the build, but that imcluded gluing panels and sanding to remove the seams. I havs a couple of master grades on preorder now. Gunpla has become hard to find around here.
