It makes sense, their kit is pretty much just plug and play. The smokes are the easiest to place properly out of any controller while having a short range. There isn't much pro gameplay on them, but you can find huuuuge value out of that agent in ranked games But with that, another plug and play agent is gekko, and he sees himself in almost all esport games? I find that weird how he also seems to be simple but played by pros, unlike clove

​@@ckyro8218in proplay, anything that have guaranteed man advantage is considered s tier. Wingman give guaranteed man advantage when planting and defusing, which is every other round. Also its not an ult so even more of it. Even if gekko is nerf to limited pick up for wingman and the blue thing, he will still be viable for a long time to go

@@vuanhuc3582 I get what you say but Gekko isn't picked because of wingman, sure wingman it's a very very valuable tool but the fact that he can cycle so many dizzys and wingmans constantly because he can pick them up is insane, and since he's the only flash/info agent with rechargable utility that gives him the upper hand over Skye. If Skye had rechargable flashes, Gekko would be nowhere to be seen and we would see Skye on every map except Ascent just like last year

cypher is overpowered simply by one fundamental issue: you dont just have to PLAY around him, you have to PICK around him too. if you dont have an agent rhat can deal with his trips, a lot of the time, whichever site he's on (depending on skill level of the cypher) is a lost site automatically.

If you don’t have any agents to break cypher trips you are now essentially restricted to one site and mid, putting your team at a huge disadvantage in terms of being extremely predictable. In addition, having a cypher with unbreakable trips means you can strengthen the other site with more players making both sites almost untakeable. So yes, the problem is that you have to pick around cypher.

Other agent I can see except for Clove. Clove encourages you to rush and be aggressive, the heal does not last long, and the ult is good but still easy to counter by either running away or camping with the other 4 teammates. The most useful is that her passive can smoke after death, but you really don't need to since smoke always plays with teammates and not the frontline and risk of dying first.

The skill ceiling for playing clove is super high. You're right in the sense that clove as an agent encourages you to fight, but at the end of the day, valorant is an FPS; you take fights with your teammates and trade each other out. You can see this in LOUDs gameplay in 2023 and 2024, where their strats are good on a high level, but their spacing is what makes them a formidable team. Clove's decay can be comboed with lots of other utility, such as raze nade, which is super meta rn, and her smokes can be super strong in post plant spam situations, such as Sunset B. Clove can be pretty hard to play, but when played correctly is super strong and hard to counter. Watch yay's most recent clove vods for more info.

I think the reason she (Clove) isn’t picked in pro play is because pros know that you can just back away so it’s not the best ult. Omen also doesn’t have the best ult but he can still get some info if it’s necessary

I think clove is a great chr but shes not the best in her role. I can see why she would be played alot in ranked since she can smoke and play pretty aggressive, which if you are solo or even duo q, thats pretty good. She will never be better than omen or brim, even the havoc viper brings in pro league/high ranked is just much better.

Idk man, I feel like KJ should be there too. Might be bias because I'm a KJ main, but if you know how to use her properly, she can hold down half the map or an entire site by herself. Bind in specific, I tend to go B, place swarm grenades by hookah, and I've gotten a lot of free kills with the correct set ups just because of swarm grenades. She can buy alot of time too, her ULT can stun enemies, give free kills, either that or buy time. Same with swarm grenades on attack...
