Would not consider carpinteria a top 5 . There are much better beach campgrounds in Southern california

We had reservations at Camp Edison a few years ago, but nearby wildfires caused a closure. So, it's still on my list as well as Anza-Borrego. Awww Emma Wood - just up the road from where we lived on our boat for many years!

Unfortunately Emma Wood is closed now for awhile due to the storms wrecking it

@@tidbitsforthejourney I had read that. We lived in Ventura for many years - sold our boat and are now full time in a small"ish" travel trailer. I'm glad to not be in that area right now with the forecasted East wind event and wildfires. Had a lot of our recently sold family ranch burn in November.

We love San Clemente State Beach and have camped there many times. Another favorite is Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and prefer Paso Picacho Campground, Space #8

We are making a run down the coast and the state beach parks are amazing. We spent time at Pismo and Faria!

Thanks for this video! It's so helpful. Because of your last video on Anza-Borrego and your very thorough cycle through of all the campsites we booked Borrego palm canyon campsite and we are so excited. We actually got site number 91 tent camping 😊

Too bad you don’t have access to Camp Pendleton because their beach campgrounds are the best in SOCAL.
