The current Amazon price for the 1 TB Seagate Ultra Touch is $76.50. For just $10 more, Amazon will sell you a 4 TB version of the WD My Passport. That's a lot of storage for the $$$.

I don't advise you to buy WD hard drives. I bought WD Elements 1.5TB, and with a fall of less than half a meter, it was over.

@@Nasser_b I had a WD 500gb SSD, had years worth of music files and other art stuff. One day, just stopped working, and everything was gone. So yeah, I don't really trust Western Digital anymore, and definitely don't recommend it for this reason.

@@ZsaZsalovely Toshiba Canvio I have 6 of them never once failed me. I use them to store videos. The only problem is they advertise 4tb but you get 3.6 tb

I have 2, 2TB WD easy store and had them for about 2 years now I even dropped them a few times (from desk level) and there still running fine

Please do not buy wd my passport. I have 5tb and it failed for no reason after a year or so. The worst thing about it is the hardware encryption board. There is a hardware encryption board instead of software encryption. Meaning if that board fails you won't be able to recover your data even if you replace the board. In my case that board failed and my data are literally gone. I have read a few review about this happening before buying but i risked it since it was cheaper than Seagate. Now i truly regret making that decision.

@@robin-qm4zx there are two types of encryption for external drives. First one is Unencrypted drives that you need to encrypt on your own using window bit locker or third-party encryption tools . So theses are software encrypted drives. Second one is already encrypted by default when you buy it and they usually have something called hardware encryption on the box . Meaning chip soldered to your hard drive itself with do the decryption for reading or writing to the drive, which is usually done by the CPU on your computer with software encryption.

@lc_elev3n2 it's not a rugged HDD so I don't really carry it around. Also I live in a full-time AC room where the temperature is always around 24C. Also I use the manufacturer application for maintaining the drive. I have never used this high storage device since my last Seagate 1.5TB drive , which is still going strong even after almost 10 years of abuse. But this WD passport ultra failed me even though I treat it like a princess. The worst thing is that i always check the drive health for any impending fail using the build in health check tool every month. And one day it just refuse to show up on my computer no matter what.

If u have to choose between WD 8TB My Book Desktop HDD and ADATA 5TB HD710 Pro Which one would be ur choice based on product quality (speed isn't my priority here) Which one would last longer and less likely to have problems with ( u know I'm one of those people who appreciates good Warranty Services but wish to never need it)

@@saifulhoque57 when it comes to electronics. I really much prefer brands from JAPAN like SONY and Toshiba even in appliances... Toshiba Canvio was good for me. Just be aware that there was "CLASS A" item circulating on online shops so buy only at the mall
