As an Ohioan, I strongly suggest avoiding Dayton and Toledo suburbs or even cities. Would be better off looking at Upper Arlington, Dublin, or Westerville in the Columbus vicinity.

Right on that. Not to mention Dayton and Cincinatti appear to have a high concentration of Superfund cleanup sites, the highest in Ohio. Dublin, Upper Arlington, Westerville, New Albany, Gahanna, and just north of Columbus, Delaware. Numbers don’t always tell the tale in research unfortunately. Visit and you’ll definitely see.

Madeira Ohio has ocean views??? 02:45 ??? This video would be more credible if the visuals matched the content. Shaker Heights center does not look like that. Furthermore, it borders on East Cleveland, one of the poorest sections of Cleveland. Ottawa Hills ?!? Seriously? I grew up near there. My best friend went to Ottawa Hills High School. None of that footage is of Ottawa Hills. None of it. As a former resident of Ohio, I can safely say that the visuals in this video are a lie.

Chadwahhh, try and tell that to the Fortune 500 companies that still flock to Ohio. Every year, Ohio is in the top 5 states with the most businesses and industries. The reason is because of the diverse economy, an exceptional pool of talent and the decent cost of living. And those are the facts. Maybe you're living too close to Kentucky.

I thought Youngstown would be on the list. Lots of space due to so many houses being demolished and those that remain have an average value of $25K. The people there are so friendly because they are so high on drugs. A lot of job opportunities because no one there wants to work. The medium wage is $15K if you include Welfare and SNAP. And plenty of exciting Night Life with drive by shootings every night at the block of your choice. Exquisite food pantries and soup kitchens. And let's not forget the quality education where most students drop out by the third grade. Yes indeed! Youngstown is my kind of town!

@markrodriguez6838
@markrodriguez6838 2 жыл бұрын
@@romiojha185 Hello Romi. I take it you are looking to study at Youngstown State University. The school is great because it has a hugh selection of courses to choose from. However, unless you have friends or family that reside in the Youngstown area to show you around, I would truly suggest you remain around the campus area or at the few local hangouts in "Downtown". which is near YSU. Other than that it is simply boring. From time to time there are local events or festivals you can attend but you really need a car to travel around. Most of the entertainment and restaurants are located at nearby Boardman on Route 224 or you can visit the Eastwood Mall in Niles on Route 422. I am originally from NYC and found Youngstown to be your typical shit hole ghetto like the many other once great cities here in the USA. If you are looking for excitement or entertainment I would suggest NYC, Miami or Houston. But if you are looking for a good education on the cheap then I would suggest YSU to graduate then bolt to another city for a high paying career job. I don't see any positive future for Youngstown with its ghetto trash mentality. The properties are cheap but you really don't want to have welfare parasites, drug dealers and ghetto trash for neighbors. That is what I see here and I regret ever coming here. So it all depends what your goals are. Most students come here to get their degrees then move on. Very few remain to call Youngstown their home. I hope this was informative to you. Good Luck with your future endeavors. Mark Rodriguez

Heads up Ohio, there will be a vote come November 2023 to vote the right to abortions in your state. All that is needed to pass is 50%, HOWEVER, your legislature pulled a fast one and wants to raise the bar to 60% to sway the vote. If you want the abortion right, then get out there and let your legislature know who you are.

I would suggest Medina. It's south-southwest of Cleveland. Nice historical city, friendly people, low crime [64 percentile...meaning 64% of US cities have more crime], newer housing, 20-25 minutes to Montrose and Fairlawn (hub of commercial area and jobs), 27 mins to Cuyahoga Valley National Park (many other parks too that are closer), 40 minutes to Cleveland, 50 minutes to Ohio's Amish country, and 80 minutes to Cedar Point and Erie Islands. It's close enough to visit the amenities of a big city, but far enough away from its problems. [Btw, I don’t live there. I live in the north Massillon/Jackson twp area.] Avoid Lorain, Elyria, Mansfield, and most of Toledo. [I went to Uni of Toledo] Hope this helps.

Cincinnati is very boring. I grew up in Philadelphia Pa and compared to that Cincinnati has nothing. There's plenty to do in downtown Philadelphia but there's nothing in downtown Cincinnati. The food is awful, the transportation system sucks and even the kids have nothing to do in the summer. When I was growing up in Philadelphia most kids went to summer camp, we had block parties and block captains would even arrange for trips to amusement parks. No wonder kids and adults in Cincinnati have no personalities and act like robots. From my opinion many Cincinnatians never been or seen anything else and got accustom to that weird way of life. Philadelphia is also a very ethnic city. and the reason why Cincinnati is so racist is because the people aren't use to being around or interacting with anyone outside of their race.

@@chriswells2953first look at the size difference between the cities and philly cheesesteaks are worse than our chili tbh. @chriswells2953

@@tribaltreegoat You're very delusional. Have you ever been to Philly? First off, the Philly chessesteaks that they make in Cincinnati taste nothing like one's actually made in Philly. Secondly, Cincinnati chili sucks. I tasted way better chili in Philadelphia. The Pizza's there put Cincinnati's to shame. There's franchises in almost every neighborhood that make pizzas, cheese steaks and hoggies Even Chinese food taste much better in Philly. Cincinnati can't even make a real Italian hoggie. They don't have the right rolls or variety of Italian meats. Besides many historical landmarks in Philly it also have lots of entertainment. It has Hershey and Clemiton Lake Amusement parks as well as a zoo. Right next door is is Atlantic City and a 6 flags Great Adventure in New Jersey and it's just as close to Philly as Florence Kentucky is to Cincinnati. Philly's Transit system is light years ahead of Cincinnati's. Plus you can take commuter trains from Philly to New York to New Jersey to Delaware.

@DTD_24
@DTD_24 Жыл бұрын
@Mike Hink Your experience sounds all too similar to mine. You may very well be dealing with seasonal depression. At least for me, from November to March, the gloomy nature of the weather and lack of sunlight puts me into a vicious depressive funk. The national average for sunshine per state is 205 days, and most of Ohio falls in the 160 days of sun range; that's a substantial difference coming from Florida and can really take a harsh toll on the psyche. If you do some research and find that this may sound like something you are experiencing (seasonal depression), there are special lights you can use to mimic the sun in your house and taking vitamin D supplements can help as well. For me, I've decided to move back down South as natural sunlight puts me in a better mental place, and the South also provides a different lifestyle that resonates with me on a deeper level and provides fulfillment that I can not find here. I wish you the best of luck in getting through this.

@mikehink4062 Жыл бұрын
@@DTD_24 thank you, I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate your insight. That said, I’m sure you’re right, at least to a large extent. I just can’t find a way to cope with these “seasons” here after living in FL from age 5-34 (I’m about to be 37. I’m seriously considering moving back South myself, even if it’s not FL but that would be my first choice. Like you said, the whole lifestyle here just feels foreign to me - I don’t want to sound dramatic but I feel like I’m living in another country that just happens to speak the same language. Thank you again though and I will definitely look into the seasonal depression aspect because that makes a lot of sense now that you mentioned it. Oh, and not that this may matter much (or perhaps it does) but I grew up and lived in Daytona for 30 years and now live in Poland, OH which has a population of 2,200… my older brother lives here and thinks I’m crazy or just depressed but he loves it here and he’s lived here 20+ years and raised a family of four & all my nieces and nephews are old enough that they’re on their own and in Cleveland and elsewhere so I understand his ties but I have none if you don’t count him and before I moved we’d only seen each other about 4-5 times in 20+ years.

I'm not a native Ohioan and I can't speak for the rest of Ohio but anything in or around Cincinnati is not worth moving to. Cincinnati is the most racist city probably in the US. They blatantly treat people of color like second class citizens no matter what your education is. On another note, the people act like robots with absolutely no personality. If you've lived in other cities like Philadelphia Pa. where I come from, you'll realize that the food in Cincinnati is awful, they have a very poor transportation system as oppose to other cities and it's just a very oppressed city for blacks. Madera which was mentioned is like a suburb of Cincinnati also have these same issues which I find it hard to believe that it would rank in the top 5 in Ohio.

Uhmmm... 05:10 -- the Gilboa Quarry is nowhere near Ottawa Hills. It is 60 miles south of Toledo two counties away, in Putnam County, in a small rural town simply called Ottawa (no "Hills"). The Ottawa River in a Toledo is a just creek and hardly offers "scenic views;" more like a muddy, swampy mess. But this is what happens when you let AI and computerized voices generate your content. Scuba diving in Ottawa Hills ?!?!? Hahahahahaha.

I smashed Oakwood in wrestling every year. The rich kids that live there aren't very good at sports. I was in a school within the SWBL facing them 2-3 times a year in track, wrestling and cross country. Our smaller public school tested higher in academics and much higher in athletics. People in Oakwood don't save. That's the problem with the suburbs you named. I lived near Oakwood my entire childhood and over 11 year in Cincinnati near Madera. Most of the people here live on credit, have nice homes and own expensive possessions, but very few create generational weath. If you'd like to leave your loved ones a legacy after you're gone don't live in any of the places listed in this video. Live in a small town with low expenses preferably in the country. Save as much as you can and pay cash for your homes like I did. Real Estate is much more affordable yet the rent you're able to charge is nearly equivalent to the high rent provided in these rich neighborhoods. A home that cost $80k-100k where I live would cost double in Madera or Oakwood. They rent for just $100-$300 less per month. Pay in cash and you'll save 20%-50% off them sale price. Also, there are plenty of jobs your children can obtain in these smaller more rural areas that will teach them true hard work. The people you'll live around will seem to care much more and not be in such a hurry. A country atmosphere is always safer than Madera and Oakwood. Both places are surrounded by areas with high crime. I'd see hookers on the street walking every other day just 3-5 minutes from Madera. These places listed are very unsafe due to the areas that surround them. My fiance is Black and our kids are mixed. She was nervous moving out here at first but now says she's the happiest she's ever been and feels by far the safest. Everyone out here is armed so no one would dare break in a home out here. People leave their front doors unlocked. The last time there was crime reported in the local news paper was over 20 years ago. Trust me, if the closest city is over 1.25 hrs away you've found the right place and the start to a better, more comfortable living. Low Bills/expenses are the way to go. Regardless home prices are extremely affordable yet rent is nearly identical. Buy homes for cheap. Get the homes move in ready. Rent the homes for barely less than the expensive suburbs you've listed in your video here. God Bless and may the Lord have mercy on your eteternal soul.

@@Rhtjr-je2li I got 2nd in state as a sophomore in wrestling which was the last year I did sports. My coach begged me to compete my junior and senior years but I was extremely busy working, chasing girls, chillin with my buddies, and being in advanced classes to get ready for college. Plus I just didn't want to wrestle in college because practice talkes your entire day basically. Pretty sure I'd have beat anyone from northeast Ohio. I spent the summers bailing hay which gave me an advantage during the wrestling season in strength and conditioning. The only 2 losses I had that year were from the same guy from Mt Healthy in Cincinnati who took 1st in State. You guys definitely could have beaten me in CC or Track, which I did just to stay in shape for the wrestling season, but definitely not in wrestling. You're right. You guys do get busy up there and have great athletics in Northeast Ohio. My fiance is from there and I know for a fact how you all get down on a high level. I support all Ohio athletics. We have some of the top athletes in the country every year from here. Just shows how we were all raised to give it 💯 always. Gotta leave it all on the mat/field/track etc. 🤙

That is the most lame list I have ever seen! Really? You couldn't find 5 better places than those!? I've been to most of those places not impressed. First off. Most Townships in Ohio blow away ANY city town or villiage. There are so many small unincorporated areas and townships that are so much safer, economical, and I would puy anyplace NEAR Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland automatically lower on the list because crime increases the closer you get. Hamilton County Anywhere is a no no.
