I love seeing Better Watch Out and Fairytale of Salzburg getting the top spot. The Eighth Doctor in general is just such a perfect Doctor for Christmas stories - I’m shocked Big Finish has had the restraint to only give us four so far!

Only because it's the most expensive

Please keep at it into next year! Even if you don’t make it to 1,000 subscribers this year, you certainly will next year.

you might enjoy 'The One Doctor' Monthly Range no. 027 for the low low price of US $3.56 or should be on line for free on Spotify, or is often given away around the holidays not set on Christmas but was 2001's Christmas Holiday release, and is a bit more light hearted compered to most of the Sixy's stories.

I’ve listened to three of those five (six, actually) audio plays. I can say, if you want something great to listen to during the holidays, this stuff’s lovely… just remember to listen to “An Earthly Child” BEFORE starting the ‘season’ that “Relative Dimensions” is part of. I listened to those stories in the wrong order, so you’ll thank me later.

All of those stories sounds great. Can I ask you which story would be good to start with in Big finish?

Usually I just recommend to pick an audio only companion and start from their first episode. If you're more into new who and like the rtd era and like the 8th doctor Lucy miller's first one is blood of the daleks. If you want to see what the 6th doctor is like when the writers aren't writing him as a villain Eveline Smithe's first one is the Marian conspiracy. Otherwise Chimes of midnight is a good one to start with. Jubilee is a good 6th doctor one. It was the basis for the episode dalek and written by the same guy. For the 7th doctor Colditz is brilliant. Him and ace find themselves prisoners of war in ww2 Germany and they accidentally create an alternate future where the nazis win because ace had a discman in her bag. Spare parts is a 5th doctor one where he witnesses the birth of the cybermen. Shadow of the sun is a great 4th doctor one where he and Leila find themselves on a 5 star space Cruise liner that was rented by a sun worshipping death cult who believe they will achieve immortality if they crash into the sun. I recommend starting with one of the monthly plays though. Theyre free on spotify and you can get them really cheap on the bigfinish website

@@thatDamnAusWhoFan Whenever the “Pea’s Pottage” pantomime play part is mentioned, yes. I mean, when the story is about all different times in a single sleepy little English town colliding into one hideous gestalt of past and future times, it really doesn’t matter when one of those times is Mel’s old Christmas play, does it?

@@thatDamnAusWhoFan fun fact the Christmas bf audios (in the early 1-50 monthly range) are the weird comedy based ones, Chimes of Midnight came out not during Christmas time in December but like Feburary or March. They only did 2 but it was going to be more, they decided to stop. Basically The One Doctor and Bang-Bang-a-Boom! are panto stories that they put out for Christmas time.
