I'm a nurse and I started watching KZbin because I love makeup and it was a way to learn and de-stress. I found you a long while back and was instantly drawn to your honesty and genuine nature. You have no idea the makeup I purchased only because of a favorable review from you! The reason I say this is because an Emily review is not like other KZbin reviews because you actually play around with the products and use them over time before you let us know the pro's and con's. I love that you do that! I can't tell you how many times I've walked past the CoverGirl Super sizer mascara! I seen you rave and rave in video after video and finally bought it and it did not disappoint! Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal eyeliner is another of the many examples of Emily made me buy it and now it's in my favorites. Thank you for making my stressful life easier for a few minutes at a time!

I feel like if more people put out respectful informative videos like this, rather than bashing products, that the companies could actually use this as constructive criticism, improve their products, make more money, while making customers happy. if I worked for nyx I would be watching this video and take notes because this is what the people want lol but makeup companies sadly only want to work with those that praise their products and turn their cheek to those who have great insight. great video! hope to see more in this series.

Granted, it doesn't happen often... but I do think more brands are starting to use social media feedback to their benefit and take it into consideration with future products or changes. Still, like you said- it's discouraging when some brands seem to have blinders on and only seek non-stop promotion.

Exactly! I think it's very important for a brand to know what they need to improve on and how to do it. They'd definitely get more money and support. I see many gurus kissing these brands butts for free products. It's crazy. With some of these brands if you say anything bad about them you're on their Public Enemy #1 list.

I swear by the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Loose Finishing Powder in Translucent. I used to use all the fancy shmancy ones from Sephora but once I tried the NYX one I never looked back! I've repurchased it 3 times so far. Best powder ever.

Emily, your success here on KZbin is admirable. Sometimes I see other channels (not to bash) with 2 million subscribers and think to myself, these videos are not that interesting or informative... however, they may have done some attention grabbing in other ways, either click bait, or doing certain collabs with brands that got them more exposure, etc. However, with you I can always tell your subscribers are truly invested in what you do... people who consistently watch and appreciate. I think the take home lesson here is slow and steady wins the race, you've done all of this in an honest way, always with integrity. I admire you a lot. Multiple times I have mentioned you to friends and family who ask me for makeup advice... and I will tell them: whenever you want to buy a product, you should really see if Emily has reviewed it first. Keep up the great work :-)

I work as a service associate at a local grocery store and one day a mother came up to the counter to check yet; she was purchasing some Wet N' Wild lipsticks for her daughter who just started getting into makeup and had been watching a lot of KZbin videos. We started talking about it and how her daughter hasn't really learned that less is more yet, especially for a 13 year old, and I admitted that I spend a majority of my time watching KZbin as well. Before she left I wrote down your channel and recommended it for her daughter and she was very thankful. I am 43 and am just now getting back into make up. The boys have grown up a little and now its time for momma to be pretty again. Would LOVE to see a video of your recommendations for a beginners kit. From brushes to primers, and concealers to shadow and everything in between. I love your lip color. I loved it so much, i had to run to ulta and asked the associate for nyx high vualtage. she dident know what i was talking about. I went home sad and empty handed. I did a little research and found out that they change the name to turnt up lip stick (apparently it sounds to similar to one of cat von d's lipsticks)! OMG!!!! i went back and bought all 3. Just in case anyone was looking for these lipsticks.

The NYX Micro brow is AWSOME! thanks to you I saved money and I'm happy cause it worked on my eyebrows. I have thick dark eyebrows but with age I have notice less hair on them, ( not as full as they use to be ) so I tried some products but it always looked over done! With this pencil I just touch on the spots that I need and it looks natural I LOVE IT thanks to your recommendation I don't have to spend all of that money on the Anastasia one. Love ya Emily xo

Emily--I know that when people like you put yourselves out there, you never know who's listening and what for, so I wanted to share some info hope you find endearing. I have 2 students in 6th grade who are makeup crazy. They are learning English, and one of their language learning goals is to become fluent enough to start a youtube channel in a few years. I've recommended they watch your videos because (among other things) you are well spoken, enunciate clearly, and organize your thoughts carefully. I feel confident in that they won't be exposed to crass language, or cattiness, or other bad behaviors while watching you. And they even get a dose of pop culture once in a while, like when you start singing country songs or mention popular movies or use an American idiom. They even used one of your videos to write a "how to" presentation for class. So kudos to you!

For another top & bottom 5, I'd love to see Elf or Wet n Wild! Anymore I use mostly internet brands & indie brands, but alot of the drugstore stuff I find myself using is those real inexpensive brands like Elf or Wet n Wild, so I'd love to see that! And I definitely will pick up that NYX brow gel-my brows grow in this odd downwards angle & are so stubborn, & I've been looking for a good, strong brow gel that's affordable. I love the nyx cream contour palette, they are SUPER dry except the contour shade BUT blend in some argan oil or coconut oil and it keeos it really creamy and works really well! Try it!
