I think it's worth noting to look at generally how available these books are in low grade, not so bad really. 2025 resolution is to sell off some of the collection to starting to build a big boy book bankroll. Thanks for the video and Happy New Year to you and the staff Bry.

Always great insights Bry. Personally, I think Golden Age is the way to go. There are just so few of many of the more desirable comics. I know many are expensive but I think they are more consistent in upward trajectory due to scarcity.

I agree that if you want to invest in comics, you need to be thinking long term, at least 5 years or even more. When the economy improves and people have more disposable income, they'll be able to pay more for comics and collectibles. For now, I would buy comics mainly because I like them, even if they are going down in price. They will go up again eventually. FF #1 is a huge Marvel grail, but AF #15 is THE most significant Silver Age book. What the market is experiencing to me is not a correction but a decline due to inflation and a stagnant economy. Collectors just don't have the money they had during the boom to pay for comics.

This seems to me like great advice, especially for this hobby. Comics are a bit different than, say, retro video games. There's just way more people into this market, for one thing.

THE majority of collectible investments like comics should be held for 10 years, or more, in my opinion, otherwise, don't try it, markets need a long time to adjust, especially with coming out of a boom and then a pandemic and crazy free money to fund it. HOLDING, is the best option until things uptick. And they will. Historically, it has always recovered.

Marvel grails are great investments in a down market. Watching your video brought tears to my eyes since I had every one of those books in Fine/Very Fine condition that is until CGC “lost” my entire submission that was hand delivered to them at a comic con. Receiving the insurance check was cold comfort. Nonetheless, the sun also rises and 2025 is the year that I am back on the hunt for those grails. Here’s hoping your 2025 is outrageously successful! I wish I had not sold my low grade AF15 in 1998. It was a 1.5 to 2.0 that I only paid $80 for in 1987. It was the nicest low grade copy I had every seen because it was clean and flat. I regret that to this day. 😢

I just saw that $1000 AF15, clicked on it and the post was taken down. How do you feel about the restored AF15's or other high end books? You get the purple label but man, they display nicely and the price is so cheap compared to a blue label.
