It’s 30 lbs lighter than their SS model, despite larger/more powerful engine.

@@aggiewoodie the engine is a rotax, I think it weighs 75kg according to Rotax. It's a turboed 1.2liter

@@aggiewoodie it doesn't really slam into the ground, it just needs some suspension in the gear. It doesn't need to weigh an additional adult male. It does however have much higher mtow than most but do you really need 4 adult males and fuel worth of payload in a 2 seater that's typically flown solo. So it seems to me they have an opportunity to make a modern composite cub that's not based on a metal scaffold that's maybe 1½ person lighter and should have much better performance.

The Super Petrel XP looks like a fantastic adventure flyer. Can it carry camping and fishing gear in the cargo area? Would like a further in-depth review of this one.

Don't get why Piper thinks they are competitive with TBM and Epic. It's a small, cramped airplane by comparison. When Epic goes to the G3000, there is no reason for anything else in the segment.

Apparently, Epic customer support is awful and getting parts is near impossible. or at least that’s what an owner told me.

11:20: That must have a radar altimeter for the callouts. That's especially helpful for landing on glassy water, when height above the surface is hard to judge. This airplane looks difficult for ingress and egress though, as many light amphibians are.

The US market will see more and more european produced aircraft in the future. The ultra light scene in central europe allowed development and distribution of highly efficient aircrafts which are way more appealing for the average joe instead of a regual PA28 or 172 especially with rising fuel prices.

The carbon cub Unusable fuel is 930-906=24 lbs.? 4 gallons unusable in a new light sport plane design? Terrible.
