Thank you for the VIP tour! It was interesting to look not only from outside but to peek inside. I see a common idea uniting all the buildings in your list - the concept that privacy and sharing go hand in hand, privacy not by isolation but by creating enough common spaces for exercising different levels of sharing. I am also fascinated by the practical demonstration of the reuse concept; reuse of existing constructions - containers, bunkers, silos - and creating pieces of art out of them. Every building in your list is a piece of art. It is difficult for me to choose only one, they complement each other.

Thank you so much for joining me on this little tour ❤ You actually make a very nice point and it's interesting to see these buildings as a foreigner. Sharing is fundamental here in Denmark it seems. The concept of privacy is not to surround yourself with high walls and be hidden and isolated from everyone else, but rather retracting to your own space, but still having the option to interact with others if you wish to do so. I mean, people rarely even have curtains here (something that would be unthinkable back in my home country 😅) and nobody really seems to be that interested in what you do inside your own space. They just seem to respect your privacy instead of you having to protect it. As for the reusing part - yes! I love that about Scandinavia! I'm planning to do a separate video with just sustainable buildings like that - there's so many good ones 👌

It's hard to decide which is my favourite one, as each of these buildings has its own charm. But maybe Mountain Dwellings is my top (loved the perforated carpark) and next one is the Tietgen Dormitory . Thanks for the walk around Copenhagen 🙏

I actually did it in plain old PowerPoint 😅 I added appearing effects to the lines in the order that I wanted them to show up and voila! My original plan was to use Doodly or something similar, but I realized there's no point in investing time & money in yet another software and I could just do it on my own 🤗

I like Copenhagen very much I definitely fell in love with Bibian 55 Everest 😍 3:06 You are right that it impresses! Cascading terrace design, love it, Designe is beautiful but lacks pragmatism! Not every parent teaches their children how to collect toys- special Balls . Better to live on the top floor of the building 🤣 Pragmatism and Designed, Can You Combine? I like a garbage incinerator, It's like Skyliner and a ski slope 😂People's mind is deep😏 I was wondering. I know the project - Qiya City Forest Garden - Butterfly larvae run away from cocoons and you have them in your apartment when you forget to close the window 🤣 Oh butterflies on the window! 🥰Oh How many in the kitchen 😐 😏 Did you hear about it? 😁 🤣 How important is pragmatism and Design 🤨 So! this cascade is a good project ? Cogito ergo sum as Descartes from Tours said 🤦‍♂️🤣
@IvaYDenmark
@IvaYDenmark 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've heard about a mosquito problem in Qiyi City Forest 😅 But I think that apart from the design itself, we have also become distant to life in such close proximity with nature. As for Mountain Dwellings - all of the terraces have wide planters around the edges, which act as railings and partitions. It's practically impossible for something to fall down to your neighbor's terrace unless you threw it on purpose. It's also smart in terms of privacy, because it doesn't let you peek in either 😉

As someone who was born and lived all my life in Copenhagen, it's sad to see the old charming city being destroyed by these new ugly buildings, on a positive note I like that they have big terraces , I like the one that seems to be like a house to live in, but also the mountain on the other side with the flowing gardens-if the other side -the parking was underground that could actually be a beautiful building , the ugliest are the round double tower you can see it from a lot of sides travelling around the city it looks like it's not finished due to the base, or like a water tower build in the 70th, and the containers are also quite ugly -the should only be allowed to build modern architecture on a deserted islands or at least outside the old city like they do in Paris
@IvaYDenmark
@IvaYDenmark 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Veronica! I totally see what you mean! Ørestad is one of those neighborhoods that is completely new built and that lets architects do contemporary buildings without ruining the feeling of the beautiful city. Refshaleøen is also very industrial, so the containers don't personally bother me much. If that was done somewhere around the Christianshavn canals, then that would be a different story. As for the circular towers - yeah, I guess some people might find them ugly, but we shouldn't forget that they were built using the existing concrete grain silos that were already there. I definitely think that turning them into housing was a good choice both from an environmental standpoint, but even aesthetically. I would much rather look at that than at old abandoned concrete silos. To be completely frank, I'm not sure I would choose to live in one of those areas if I could choose to live anywhere I want - I too prefer the old neighborhoods. Funny enough, I heard that the biggest amount of architects actually live in Kartoffelraekkerne, so that's telling enough 😅 Unfortunately, the old city cannot accommodate everyone, as capital cities tend to drive more people in through the years - not just Copenhagen, but any big city around the world. It's inevitable to build new buildings and grow the city outwards with time, but what I love about Copenhagen is that it does preserve its old neighborhoods quite well. Sadly, that's not the case in many places and a lot of old buildings around the world, Europe included, get torn down to make room for bigger new ones 💔

I can't deal with that type of architecture. Why deviate from the traditional landmarks in Copenhagen? It's just an amusement park of experiments.
