Great tips - I should have watched this a week ago when I started playing. Initially it took a few races to get to grips with. The physics of constantly driving on sand takes practice and determination. I'd say being patient too will certainly be to your advantage - as Ben rightfully said, you don't have to be full send on every stage! Good game - some really impressive stages and cool effects.

I cannot stress tip 4 enough. If you've never played rally games before, LEARN THE PACENOTES!!! Reading them on screen while driving will definitely make you lose time...

Yeah the difference in my times now I can listen and know what's going is significant. Even if I do still get lost sometimes on the bikes.

Understandable, no audio on the motorbikes and quads can make the overall experience a lot harder.

@@Nijonibi Don't you lose a lot of speed? The 1.4 update has changed much of this from what I've tried.

@@ATribeCalledCars you do some lose speed, but it's a barely noticeable change from the default tuning. It's just a sacrifice you have to make for better grip and stability. However, if you're using this tune on the quads you will notice a huge loss in speed. but you can increase the tire pressure to fix that, but the higher the tire pressure the more you'll slide. Also, are you on version 1.4? what system are you on? I'm on xbox series s and I'm on version 1.3.61.0

So funny story. I got over an hour of time pannelties after major repairs. Repairing on stage is free, and of stage cost you dp's. So when I had a bad run in an sxs, and managed to roll 5 times after a bump, making a good finish impossible so I dicided to repair everything. Saving a lot of dp's that I could spent on other stuff.

One thing I learned after playing with the audio settings, is that when you slide the music slider all the way to 0% it actually doesn’t turn off the music in the race. Which is very dumb in my opinion. No idea if it’s a glitch or if it’s made to be like that in the game. I just want to listen to my own music and not have to listen to this purposefully intense music.

There are two sliders, one for the menus and one for music. I'm not sure if it's a glitch for you but on PC it's okay (all footage is music-less).

One thing I would suggest is getting the CR6 in the car category. It has a speed of 9.5 and despite the team rating being very low at 4.5 it is a very good vehicle and will pull away from opponents with ease.

I find help in the opposite. Once your vehicle has engaged, “mandatory drift mode” more steering angle is the only hope in hell I’ve ever had pulling myself out of it. I max the steering angle on the atv’s and go at least up to 32 on all other vehicles. Doesn’t prevent them from going. “I turn now, good luck everybody else!” But when it does I’ve been more able to wrestle back control.

That sounds logical too, good to know. Fortunately the issue is reduced in 1.4 (see my latest video). Just waiting for everyone to get it, not just PC!

For ps5 players i got a weird one. I started playing on performance mode and always starting to have headaches after less than a 1h of playtime. Tried the resolution mode, no more headaches 🤷🏻

any tips for performance ? The game chugs on my rtx3070ti (clearly a game issue, it runs great, then it stutters, then it runs great again for 30 sec...) so I refunded it, but if the console versions are better ...

I'm playing on xsx on performance mode and there is no animation drops at all. I don't know how it works in fidelity but I'm not interested in 30 fps.

Well I have a 3090 and its the same. also bought the game digitally on my seriesx and physical version for the PS5....the game stutters on all versions, imho it's something about map loading more than anything. Also framerate on series x and ps5 is far from stable even on Performance mode. We need the patch because the game is amazing.

Physics the same, it's just more methodical and professional has the overall speed limit.

I think there is an update this week to iron out some of the negatives, but generally it's a fun driving game that should keep you busy for a while. It also looks like it has a decent future in terms of content so perhaps waiting for a sale isn't such a bad idea. Or maybe it will hit Game Pass.

Have an open slot in the garage, then select the warehouse and select move the vehicle to garage or something along those lines.

The handling is considerably better than Dakar 18. Only the quad bikes are a bit annoying but the trucks and bikes in particular are loads of fun. And it seems as if the devs are looking to bolster the content and improve issues over the next year and beyond. I really enjoyed it, having put 33 hours in.

How in hell I can change car in PS5-version before starting career, I took 405 first because its free in deluxe, but I don't want to start career with it, I bought also '20 raptor etc but I can't change car? Is total uninstall/install first only option to get rid of choosed car. This is really idiotic way from developers.

I have had my game get stuck twice. Both times when I restarted the game I lost several levels and a couple cars. It has been very frustrating. Has anyone else had these issues?

Yep this happened to me today. Went from level 12 to level 7. I’m still gonna keep playing cause it’s so fun haha but very annoying. Hopefully gets patched soon

I can help. The only way to progress is to finish a race. As in all the races. Then continue to the main menu. Sell the exact car u finished the race with. Wait 5 or so seconds, press back button to the main menu. Wait 5 seconds to 10 then quit the game. This works on ps5 and xbox series x. Try in the first qualifying level. I repeat sell amy car u finish the race with. If u liked a car before this issue don't use it until they patch. And don't use classic cars u won just incase. Only cars u can buy and sponsored cars too.

I haven't done a full review yet, I didn't want to have certain gaps including steering wheel support. There is a Fanatec wheel update coming next week apparently so hopefully that helps - it is in the official list, after all. I am also affected unfortunately despite the fact the devs said my DD Pro would be fine. Unfortunately I cannot always test every wheel and every peripheral before launch. I wish I could but sometimes you only get a few days. All the good and bad will be revealed in my actual review. In fairness, I've really enjoyed the game regardless.

Tbh, I wouldn't hold my breath for Saber properly fixing Fanatec support. Even in SnowRunner the support for Fanatec stuff is mediocre, sure it works in compatibility modes through the Fanatec software, but there just is no proper support for it. Same applies for steering wheels that are supposedly officially supported though. SnowRunner claims that it should work properly with a Logitech G923 with shifter, but the shifter does nothing unless you set the game to not use the shifter and then bind the shifter as DirectInput buttons in the keyboard controls of all places.

Man this game need check dirt rally to know how cars handling works … im sorry but this game is garbage in my opinion until they improve the handling and driving mechanics

It's actually pretty close to Forza Horizon 5 and that's good. But the quad bikes and sometimes bikes and smaller SXS vehicles do that annoying oversteer snap. Dirt Rally also has its issues.

@@ATribeCalledCars I don’t know what do you mean by it’s close to forza 5 maybe the scale of game like the map but handling and driving mechanics its not even close to forza 5 and on top of that the race is scripted just try and play the same race and watch the AI every time the same crash at the same location this game was hyped for nothing it has the potential but for me its must handle like not exactly a real car but I think you know what i mean … its a driving game so the most important thing is driving

@@saifkhalifa6161 The combination of arcadey and some realism is definitely Forza style. The AI definitely needs work in Sport mode, it is not so noticeable in Pro and Simulation.

Which wheel? I know some are fine but not all, including one of mine. I've been told a fix is coming this week for Fanatec and maybe other brands but the developer has not told me anything specific (and rarely does).

Be good be nice if there was an option to change KPH to MPH. I hate that. Makes no sense KPH I suppose that’s why the Canadians have it. It might have the option. But my 33 year old arse can’t find it neither can my daughter and she is a wiz kid in technology . Help please.
