1st Accessory I bought, was those same Vic Firth ear plugs - so glad you included them ($30 in NZ).

Protecting your ears is priority number one! Good work. haha

One I found that's a bit more than $25 are the Trick cymbal toppers. They're quick attach. Saves tons of time over a year worth of gigs

Yes! Those things are cool. Anything that saves me from having to spin a wingnut 50+ times a gig is a lifesaver haha.

I just discovered the Booty Shakers for floor tom legs. Brilliant product. Works amazingly well.

Great video, man. I'm definitely getting that clutch. That will literally change my life lol. Gonna try out the Little Booty Shakers on the tom I have in a snare case, too. Also, gonna look into the Earasers that another commenter suggested. Thanks!

Thanks Tim. I definitely think you should include affiliate links (with a disclaimer) to these and future products (in both the description of this video and the PDF you send out). No reason you shouldn't get a little kick back for the work you do. The little nub at the top of the drum key is also useful for getting the tension rods "finger tight" without getting your fingers all gross from the screws. I'd also recommend checking out Eareaser earplugs. They are hands down the most comfortable earplugs out there. The Vic Firth style is essentially a copy of the Etymotic style, and I've found that they irritate my ears over time.

izmar appreciate that! I thought about doing that but didn’t. I might go back and add them though.

Those ear plugs are a very interesting design. I'll have to check them out!

@@TimBuell You won't regret it! They are so freaking comfortable and attenuate the sound better than any other I've tried. Make a video if you like them! :)

In my opinion the best gadget is a Hihat Drop clutch.....

I’ve used the Gibraltar quick release for over a year, and I found it just doesn’t get the top hi-hat as tight as I want it. Based on the context of the Remo bit of this video, I’d like to assume you had the same issue with the same product. I went ahead and bought the remo clutch on amazon. Thanks for another great video, and have an awesome week!

Indeed! The Gibraltar is fine, but I prefer the Remo clutch by far. Glad it helped!

HA! Jazz is a huge passion of mine. I spent a summer playing jazz all day every day for 6 hours a day. Unfortunately I just don't get to play it too much in Nashville as there isn't that much of a scene. But any chance I get I will play for (or put together) a trio or quartet.

Love the remo clutch. Tape on bottom of your hats?
@TimBuell5 жыл бұрын
Ha! Yes. Those are 12" prototype hats from Zildjian that sound very...unique. So taping them tames a bit of the weird when I'm in the studio. haha
@Kookedkuntkjx4 жыл бұрын
you dont need moon gel. i use tape and i get paper and tape the paper on my snare and it honesty sounds amazing, you can literally walk into a store and steal some tape if you are poor lol, much love!
@TimBuell4 жыл бұрын
Kelvin - I hear you. In the studio I use mostly tape and old t shirts and stuff. The benefit (to me) of moon gel is that you can take it on and off. So when I am on the road, from gig to gig I can use and reuse the moon gel, changing things if I want, without having to burn through a bunch of gaff tape.
