Top 5 Eels For A Saltwater Tank

My absolute favorite eel, or fish in general, are blue ribbons. I've been obsessed with them ever since I saw one as a kid. I have one in my reef tank now and he absolutely rules, the colors are incredible and when he comes out to swim around the way they move is wild. I have him with everything from small tamarin wrasses, clownfish, cardinalfish, mandarins, and cleaner shrimp. Pretty sure he's actually buds with my mandarin because they're almost always hanging out in the same cave right on top of eachother lol The most he's ever done was give a test bite to a yellow coris wrasse but their teeth are so tiny and their bites are so gentle the wrasse didn't even react and didn't leave a mark. That was when he was new to the tank so he was still exploring, hasn't touched anything since. I actually have to be more concerned about the wrasses stealing his food out of his mouth before he can swallow it. If they weren't such pains to get feeding regularly I'd recommend them as one of the best eels for a reef tank. Took about 2 months to fully get him eating frozen silversides regularly. 100% worth the effort though in my opinion. My "training method" went so smoothly with him I hope to get another one at some point and try it again

golden dwarf morays have been my favorite in evey tank i have. Will definitely get a few when my next tank is set up

Appreciate the video! First one I have been able to find with decent footage of a snowflake being larger. I don’t have the space for a zebra but was worried the snowflake wouldn’t get chunky enough - but they look like they do.

Bought my first eel last week! Some sort of Brazilian glow eel? Not sure. It’s bright yellow under blue lights. And got myself a snowflake eel yesterday. Saw the two eels hanging out together this morning. So awesome! 😊

I love moray eels, they're adorable water puppies ❤ I dunno if I'll ever adopt one though, I like my clownfish and chromis too much!

Some eels can grow up to 2 feet long, while some grow up to 4-6 feet long! Average 7 year old kid(4') Average Teenager/Young Adult(5') Average Full grown(6')

They are considered to be expert level and most perish no matter how hard you try to feed him, hence they are not considered for beginners

@@tyroneabnes87 yeah I liked the idea of a ribbon eel as apparently more reef save & the colours are very vibrant , not many other eels appeal to me .
