I'm sorry! I played it last year and I thought it was neat but I was alittle let down after all the hype. I didn't play it in VR though, maybe I should try it that way? But all Tetris is good Tetris! Just personal preference! Thanks for checking out the video, I really appreciate it.

The one that got me really into Tetris was Plus on Saturn. Something about the jovial "single! Double! Tetris!" When you clear lines just makes me happy

The core gameplay for Tetris is always be fun (there are a few exceptions) but it's those extra modes that really entice me. Tetris Plus and Puyo Puyo Tetris definitely have some of the best extras! Are you a big fan of Tetris? Thanks for watching!

Y'know, I'm actually not a huge fan of Tetris in particular. I can pick up any edition and play for awhile, sure, but I really only tend to get hooked to arcade puzzlers - I love stuff like SNK's Magical Drop series, for instance. That's probably why I gravitate towards Tetris Plus and PPT so well - they definitely sport that colorful, vibrant, poppy Japanese arcade aesthetic the hardest out of most Tetris games, I'd say :)

Hmm, I haven't heard of the Magical Drop series before. While I definitely love classic Tetris, I tend to like the ones with different play styles. I'm a fan of puzzle games so I'll check that series out, thanks for the recommendation!

I love all the Tetris games. I do think Puyo Puyo Tetris is the winner because it's the only one that mixes Tetris with Puyo Puyo.

@@ItsAllFunAndGames Yea we both think Puyo Puyo Tetris is the best one. We both also agree that the extra content is what makes the Wii game so great, and I adore Tetris Plus for it's unique mode, and I agree though that Tetris Plus lags abit and isn't great for playing normal Tetris. If I am to be honest, I think putting the original Tetris on your list was a cop-out as you can just play better versions of plain old classic tetris on many other versions (as you also stated in this video) so it's kind of pointless by todays standards in every way. I take it that you haven't played all / many versions of Tetris? I highly reccommend Tetris DS as that also has many modes of play unique to it and is also the definitive portable version of the game to date. It also has many Nintendo Cameos that show up on it. I highly recommend giving it a try. Tetris Battle Gaiden is also special on the Super Famicom. It's Japanese text heavy and may look basic but it has a unique selling point.... you can strategize and attack your enemy at key moments. Kind of reminds me of what they did to my personal favorite puzzle and columns game.... Hanagumi Taisen Columns 2. 1 Unique Tetris game I've never played and didn't list it here, but I would love to play or see a Switch release of is:- kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp2rYWZ-hsZ7Z7c Well worth a watch if you are a huge fan of Tetris. Finally, I've never played Tetris 99 but I refuse to pay Nintendo Subscriptions for nothing until I see a fully fledged Virtual Console on Switch.

I've probably played about 30 or more different versions of Tetris. I think the NES one does still have a lot of value, because many tournaments use that version, which I like to compete in some local ones, so playing that one is a must. I have the DS version and it is really good, lots of fun modes, the only negative is I can't play the DS very long without hand cramps : P I've played Battle Gaiden too, couldn't really get into it, but the music was awesome. Big Tetris looks so cool! I'd love to give that one a try. It seems they have it at a museum in Rochester NY, I may have to make the trip! Yeah it's a bummer about the lack of virtual console. While their service is only 20 bucks it doesn't offer too much. Sadly I love playing Splatoon 2 online, so there's no way around it. AT least I get some Tetris 99.

@@ItsAllFunAndGames Didn't know your local area does NES Tetris Tournaments so that makes sense why you would play it. I agree about the hand cramps when playing any handheld for too long. I will always play Tetris DS if I have to play a portable (not counting Puyo Puyo Tetris on Switch). Battle Gaiden can be tricky to get into it but if we got Giant Tetris on Switch then the unique selling point of Battle Gaiden would kind disappear. Speaking of Giant Tetris, did you watch the whole video.... it's not just a gimmick as I once thought when I had heard of it, it has some really unique modes and different strategies compared to any other version. Yes you are lucky that you live in America and could go and find that Arcade machine. I've never seen one in the UK. I understand about needing a Nintendo Online Subscription for Splatoon. I haven't played it much but my little brother who owns it is hooked on it online. I don't yet own the game but I do plan to pick it up.

I used to love playing Tetris DS with my mom and brother. I was going to say what about Tetris Attack for the SNES, but it ain't really a Tetris game despite its name.

Same! I love how Tetris can be enjoyed by anyone. My mom does not play any other game besides Tetris. Tetris Attack is very fun even though it's not a true Tetris. When I play it the intro song with the Yoshis singing always gets stuck in my head. Thanks for watching!!

I think Tetris Effect is a lot better than Puyo Puyo Tetris. It has a lot of modes (15 or so), classic, standard, and zone (Terris Effects personal mode) multiplayer, and even a boss mode that allows you and 2 other players to combine boards and try take down the games bosses that randomise effects on the screen. It has a campaign that can last easily 2 hours, and there are 3 difficulties pushing this number up even higher. Tons of unlockables and achievements on top of all this aswell. It genuinely feels like it has everything, being a definitive Tetris experience. While Puyo Puyo was great for its time it’s vses multiplayer is just unfair, with no proper ranking system you get chucked against veterans of the game that destroy you in seconds. I’d only play it for its addition of Puyo Puyo mode, but even then, I’m not a big fan of that mode.

Thanks a lot! Yes! I have Tetris Worlds for the GBA,which I do play pretty often. I never liked how you could infinitely spin, but it does have a classic Tetris mode which I really enjoy since it's portable. I haven't tried the ones for PS2 or Xbox. Is that your favorite? Yes! I got for the PS2. It has one of the most simple yet wonderful songs that I have heard. There is also a story where there are these cubes with one eye are playing Tetris to go to other planets before their planet is blown up. If you can level up before time expires then you can see the planet growing at the end. There are multiple types of Tetris to play. I mostly play Classic Tetris but I do love Cascade Tetris!
