On the app side, we use a trio of apps: Gloomhaven Helper (for running monsters), Gloomhaven Scenario Viewer (for hiding parts of the map until unlocked) and Gloomhaven Campaign Tracker (for tracking everything else).

Nice set up. I've heard that the big expansion will be made in such a way that it doesn't reveal the whole map at the top. I try to pare down my app use in game (mo screens mo problems), so if it's true that would help.

Yeah, I don’t use the Campaign Tracker while we’re gaming, I usually fill it out afterwards. We probably don’t really need it but I find it helps to check rewards and unlocked stuff at the end of a mission so we don’t miss anything.

I use a card holder - it's super helpful for me and makes it much easier to select cards.

Love the aesthetics of Daedalus organizer I'm actually torn between that one and the Go7 organizer. Do you have any thoughts. I'm honestly about to go for the Go7 because I like the fact that you can store each class in it's own box(some people don't like that because of spoilers) I also heard that the etching isn't the best(clearest) and that the colors can bleed from the Daedalus.

Oooh, I hadn't seen that one and it is quite nice. But yeah, I wouldn't want to open up the class boxes before I'd earned them. That, and the $100 price tag kinda puts me off. Don't know about the Daedalus issues, other than that I've only heard good things (I don't actually have an organizer, I just try to cram everything in the box and embrace defeat), but if true it would be disappointing.

I went with the Go7. I also use Go7 organizers for Arcadia Quest, Eldritch Horror and Zombicide: Black Plague. Their labeling is clear and they have lids. Best to spend the extra money for the extra quality, IMO

Awesome video, Shea! The stamina guide is especially useful for me. I struggle so much with Gloomhaven. On one hand, I love the theme and the RPG mechanics, but on the other I get so stressed out about the stamina mechanic that it sucks out a large chunk of the enjoyment for me. The more you try to accomplish the closer you come to death and the fewer options you have. It makes every decision so stressful. And if we lose I always feel it was because of decisions I (or others) made early on - but I can only rarely identify what those bad decisions were to change them. Any suggestions for decreasing that stress? I'm finding it is actively preventing me from bringing Gloomhaven to the table.

Thank you! My biggest suggestion, and this isn't possible with every character, is to hold off on using abilities that lose cards for as long as you can. Especially if you have characters who can heal or prevent damage, try to play the long game instead of doing big damage right away. Then when you get to the 2nd or 3rd rooms, if possible, set up your biggest hitters to use their strongest abilities in ways that guarantee damage or kills, while keeping your more support-oriented characters fresh and ready to clean up at the end. tl;dr: take it slow at the beginning, ramp up at the end.

Might have to agree to disagree on that one. Helper is definitely prettier and more feature rich, but I feel that Guild is more user-friendly. But yes, there are certainly other options besides Guild for that service

Yep, loving Gloomhaven Helper. I admit it took a it of playing around to figure everything out, and we did play half a game 4 levels higher than we should have due to making a mistake, but it looks great and does almost everything.

We've been using GH Helper for a while now, it shaves a cool 45-60 mins of setup/maintenance PER gaming session. Haven't heard of GH Guild until this video so I cannot compare the two, but GH Helper was literally god sent, as we can all set our individual initiative and the game does all the work for us, including decaying conditions/elements and the lot. I would literally even pay 20$ if the app wasn't free, it helps out that much. Also, great video, subscribed.
