RINKY DINKS!!! Yes please!!! It took me a while but I’m loving having my 19 degree to play around with various shots on the course. It’s like a wedge for longer distances. So versatile… I always love your hybrid videos because they’re always so eye opening on what you can really do with them. Keep them coming Mark!!! On another note… Go Lakers!!!

Just bought a 19 and 21 deg hybrids. Titleist 816 h2. Literally changed my game. Brilliant! Prefer to knock up the turf on the tee. Closer to ball and little bit upright really helps. Shots fly and are really solid. 3 and 4 irons are out of the bag now.

5:51 Amazing remark (for me) on straight, draw, fade. That's exactly what I have been struggling with. Now I've heard this I can stop working against my natural tendencies and instead exploit what I do naturally. Looking forward to trying this out on the course once the rain stops here in SW France. Thank you.

Rinky Dinks! I'm new to golf this year. 36 years old fitness freak and love the challenge of golf and everything about it. Not got my own set of clubs yet but think I'm going for a full set of hybrids. Either the Cleveland Launchers or Wilson LPs. Probably latter because nowhere up in the north East of Scotland stocks the clevelands but the local American golf does the Wilsons. Going to give them a whack and see what fitting I need. Love the channel mate, keep it up!

Rinky Dinks! Still have a 5 iron in the bag. l am one of those that struggle with swing ideas around hybrids, l still find my 5 iron more versatile in funky lies and negotiating obstacles (read- chipping back to the fairway), though l notice all the issues hacks like me have hitting a repeatable distance with a longer iron. I will take the tips on ball position to the range. Thanks Mark, up the Army.

Rinky Dinks, I max out in irons with a “traditional” lofted 5 iron. Then play 23deg Titleist and a 20deg XXIO. Shotscope data shows I can and have hit my 20deg further than my 3 wood. Gotta love them they so versatile. Like the Swiss Army knife of golf clubs.

Playing the clubs natural shape is such good advice I’m playing Callaway max 4hybrid 5 wood and driver and being draw biased I know where it’s going assuming I make a decent swing. The will all work a few yards left of my start line.

I go from 6 iron to 26 degree hybrid and I love it 140 - 180 yards can hit it out of any rough and its fab out of fairway bunkers would never be able to to half the stuff with a 5 iron, could probably do without my 6 and 7 iron but the bag would look empty

Hey Mark.. I would like too see a video about using an entire set of hybrids.. Say from a #3 all the way down to a #7 or even a 9. How does the swing change.. What do the shots look like.. I think this would be most instructional to older golfers who either have or are considering moving into hybrids. Thanks

I used to play the original "Rinky Dinks" Ping G20 3# hybrid, but been loving my TM M4 19 deg and i agree that playing it as an iron from the middle of your stance gives the best results (for me) 210 to 220 yards
@martindesjardins4282 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, I learned few things (lie and ball position) that will surely help me with my hybrids. I got 2 hybrids: Karsten 4 (22 deg) and Karsten 3 (19 deg). I am kinda ok with my 4, mostly on fairways, hitting up to 192y but lots of mishit and 154y average. Still better than my iron 5 though. I can only hit my 3 on fairway and success rate is very low. Max is 209y but average is 158y. Even on tees I don't often hit them very well. I am pretty sure my score would be better if I would just left them on my bag and use my irons instead... I will work on that this winter.

Love my Rinky Dinks… I’ve had as many as 4 hybrids in the bag at one time. New irons and putting a 5W in the bag have reduced me back to two hybrids now, but if the the new 6-iron doesn’t perform as hoping (waiting for irons to arrive still) then I may replace it with a 27 hybrid.

Thanks for the tips, Mark. I find I can aim and control the direction of shots with my irons better than my hybrids. I hook my hybrids, and I do tend to place the ball too far forward in my stance with the hybrids. I'll work on ball position next year.

Great video Mark, thank you very much ........ I am a senior player and I just bought a Majek set of senior hubs ranging from number 3 to pitch ... how much should I delay the ball as the stick is shortened? I understand that with long hybrids like 3-4 I should put it two inches from the front heel but with the pitch it becomes the same or the ball is centered a little and the stay is also narrow?

I have 9 18 and 22 degree hybrid. Does the ball position differ between the two? It was interesting to hear that even 2 closely related clubs could have different shot shapes. As a comparison, I find that with my 3 wood I fade the ball, but I never consider that my driver is fitted and Set up to draw - l -will hit a.good shot but always I -assumed that I was somehow swinging differently. different
@christianhowtolife49613 жыл бұрын
I have a low draw I use (if needed) by putting the ball pretty far back in my stance and dropping the club behind me and then rotating it out to the ball. I came up with it a long time ago interpreting some of your old video swing thoughts. I could probably play my whole game like that if I wanted but it isn’t as powerful of a swing as my typical gamer.

“RINKY DINKS”. It was your vlogs with your original Ping “Rinky Dinks” that persuaded me to ditch my 3 & 4 irons and as I get older, I can see the 5 iron also being ditched. Can’t go as far as ditching my 6 iron as it’s my “go too” club for all sorts of issues.
