I don't think I have commented before but when I first purchased a personal hand gun (I was in the military for 6 years and have some experience there) your content was some of the best advice through data and lived experience. I now have an associates degree in firearm technology, do protection work, and am slowly working towards becoming a firearm instructor myself and without a doubt you are someone who is an inspiration to many and especially for me. Some things that come to mind here in florida; *People seem to forget everyday items are the most important, food, water, blankets, pillows, TOWELS, etc. *Water is plentiful here but rarely safe to drink, something like a lifestraw is very appealing. Low weight, low cost, easy to pack. *Flares are a no go here, fire concerns. Smoke on the other hand, legal and very handy. *Radios are handy but if they can't transmit, not so much. Sure you can listen to local broadcasts but most of the time you'd rather be talking to somebody rather than listening. So an extra battery or one of those solar batteries for your cell phone would be a better choice. Also your phone can use an AM/FM radio app and get the same functionality. *If you take medicine on the regular be sure to pack extra. Should go without saying but ALWAYS have your meds handy. Snacks too, gummies last a long time (shelf life of several years easily) and generally are pretty tolerable.

Just jumping in to comment on the AR-7. I have the Henry version and was having malfunctions when I first bought it. Switched to CCI Mini-mags and the problems cleared up. As long I feed it "fast 22's", it runs fine. It is now on par with my 10-22s. That being said, I would still choose a 10-22 breakdown over the AR-7. With the 10-22 you can mount an optic, use larger mags, and easily attach a sling for ease of carry. The only time I choose the AR-7 is when I am on a boat fishing as it does float even when assembled.
