Normally,100 tons of metal for a tank isn’t anything special since even one average WW2 submarine requires 1,000-2,000 tons.It’s rather a logistical nightmare since it would destroy all the bridges it crosses and can also damage roads.

Thats because it has the wrong turret, its suspension is physically incapable of supporting the Maus turret. The actual turret was intended to be a variation of the Maus II turret with thinner 80mm sides.

@@leinad3305 the tank was designed and had it hull built but the project was abandoned. The turret for the E100 would have been different to the maus turret due to the maus turret being too heavy. The turret would have the same armament though.

The actual definition of a tank is "a heavy armoured fighting vehicle carrying guns and moving on a continuous articulated metal track". So these are tanks. Cant argue with the literal definition. A tank destroyer is still a tank.

here's the thing, "tank destroyer" are not a class but more like a role, if you have a big gun for hunting tank then you are a "tank destroyer" regarless if you have a turret or not that is why it's hard to judge tank's role by it's looks, example american tank detroyer have a turret ie. M18,M10,M36 etc. however T95/T28 are not a tank destroyer but an assault tank, but here a funny part, the first American "tank destroyer" aren't even a tank but a 4x4 jeep with a 37mm field gun on the back you may got confused because there were a lot of tank destroyer that don't have a turret, BUT that's because the different of doctrine the country used and that was the easiest way to put bigger gun on a tank
