I don't know if The Return, starring Ralph Fiennes qualifies as a historical movie. I would rate it definitely above gladiator 2.

I think it absolutely does, just like 'Troy'. I totally slacked on watching it. But I did grew up re-reading 'Odyssey', so I most definitely will!

@@robinkasyanov I loved The Return. I'd also add The Dead Don't Hurt, made by Viggo Mortensen. Very much taps into specific details about the history of America between the early 1800s and the 1860s.
