They should be a race waaaaaggggggggggggg Now seriously I found that in the old world they will be an army but will not be only hob-goblins but half orcs and Centaur that is huge races that never received love are getting it by joining bigger factions

I really think they could be a cool faction. Maybe include a flc rework of Norsca along with it (I've seen some people arguing Norsca should be changed to "northern tribes" or something else more exompassing of the different cultures)

well i dont feel this way, and i dont think GW does either but i can see people being critcal of the Hobgoblin Khans having racist undertones against Nomadic people like the Mongols of Turkic peoples

@@kylefisher5138 Europeans’ experience with Mongolians and steppe peoples in history was traumatic and extremely violent, so fictional representations of those groups have always been of bloodthirsty conquerors(I’d argue this isn’t a particularly bad thing to be remembered as). It’s not limited to any one race either, the “northern barbarian” factions literally include Norscans, which reflects most of Europe’s early encounters with Scandinavians. These fantastical/mythical representations of groups shouldn’t be bound by modern moral sensibilities, everything would be terribly boring.

For what it's worth my Mongolian housemate has found the faction hilarious when I've tried to describe it to her. Obviously that's just one person's opinion but I would argue it's not universally seen as racist.
