Water, food, shelter, security, medical, and knowledge. These six are my pillars of need. Water and food are self explanatory. Shelter will keep one warm and dry and give a place to be safe. Security, like weapons and locks, give protection to you and anyone or anything that needs to be kept safe. Medical is important to keep one healthy in the event of sickness or injury. Knowledge, already known or stored, is important because it is the basis of skill, and without it one doesn't have the ability to do what is needed.

I would take Bob ( for his medical knowledge and gear ), Bear for his faith knowledge and ability to impart it to others, water collection/filtering capabilities, personal protection equipment, and appropriate clothing

For a cutting tool I prefer a pair of titanium scissors. Can use to cut meat before and after cooking.

Cordage and fire starter seem important to me. In permissive environment fire is a huge moral boost... and light for reading that Bible.

I ain't leaving. Just bladed tools, I've got the fillet knife, the butcher knife, my KABar, my steak knives, the paring knife, the shovels, the post hole digger, the axe, the splitting maul, the hatchet, the throwing knives, the throwing hawks, my favorite garden hoe... Five things? I can't even list five blades without disappointment.

Its a tough ask, we are not bug out folks here, we think staying put is the best option, of course that is if it is possible.

@@RefugeMedical Same here. We've got a half acre we have been planting fruit trees, berry bushes, a grape vine and a 1,500 square foot garden that gets bigger every year. We have a creek 200 feet away and a river a mile away. We live in small town Iowa, It is the kind of place an old guy can walk his dog 900+ miles a year without fear. The soil is pretty good, the cost of living including home ownership is comparatively low, the school kids are still polite. Being a free state Iowa allows us to carry a weapon, reload ammo, fish, grow food, and practice our worship. We have been told how our grandparents and parents lived through the great depression and try to follow their way.

100% agreed, except swap the fixed blade for a multi tool. After watching that show ALONE I’ve wondered why nobody picks the Bible, or at least a book, as one of their items. Seems like a decent enough time to get closer with the Father.

I have water filtration and boxes of juice, chem lights, and mylar blankets at school for emergencies. I have the Desk kit coming and I’ll pull from my wound bucket I bought to supplement my emergency box. It’s not a lot but I can keep it under my desk for the just in case which I hope never happens.

I just grab my bag. Has all that in it. Even my dad's Bible he got at 8. Bag has 5 ties cutting in it. 3 way water purification. Sawyer, tablets & way to boil it. For truma I have bearfak on it & in first Pouch more gauze & tape & equipment for taking vitals. Then next Pouch. Multi layers of fire making (even fire starter I just light) next Pouch food, back up water with 10yr shelf life in pouches, Bible, Hatchett, folding shovel. & back up jellybean launcher. Not to mention just my edc on me daily. Cause I edc those 5 things daily on me. Except a opfak & ankle kit instead of bearfak. I edc a marpat 3 30 round m4 mag holder. In it I have 2 cutting tools 1 old Swiss army knife name brand. 2 old camping knife has spoon & fork fold out a knife & can opener blade. I have altiod mint can. In it I took cotton ball ripped up & put in wax & cotton balls soaked in 3 in 1 oil wrapped in foil. (Make great light for 45min or fire starters to) & flint in can I have lil coin bag full band-aid & alcohol whipes & wash whipes. I have 6 pieces of cordage in it bout 4 ft each. A lighter wrapped in tape. 2 p38s. & a pen light. All that fits in a m4 mag carrier on my belt. + 2 reload for my edc p220 45, opfak, & 6 in fixed knife most times. That don't count anything I edc in pockets or on my ankel. For water I have serval quart military canteen with metal cup & can throw on my belt. So when walking hands r free. So can get to my side arm or rifle if need be in shtf. So if I have my edc & allowed 5 more things idk Or if I had remove stuff off me down to 5 lol. But most don't see my edc even opfak less in in t shirt. I wearing a coat or my button up shirt. They usually don't even notice the black opfak next to the nam Era m16 mag holder lmao. I have a? If only allowed 1 thing what ya taking. Me fire starter. I can find a Bible & water & can find way boil the water. Cause can make fire. With fire I can make a wood spear, a bow ( use do that as kid cause couldn't afford a bow. They last bout a yr. I use the bark to make string. Was taught in scouts how make fishing pole line & hook out a tree. So I used it to make bows & even couple crossbow with 2x4 as it's base. So if had choose 5 thing I own 1 Be a quart canteen with cup & carrying case. 2 My dad's Bible, 3 my opfak, 4 my m16 mag Pouch with all its stuff. 5 my edc 45. I edc all that daily except my dad's Bible & canteen Bible in my get home/bug out bag. Canteen I have 1 or 2 on each bag & couple loose in truck. Also forgot I have fold up mylar emergency mylar tent & 2 mylar blanket in lil bag. I keep in my bag, if walking long distance no bag I keep in pocket. It's through Stealth Angel But I am suprise ya all didn't mention a lighter. I mean yes can rub 2 sticks. But how many can do that & easily. Ty Bob & refuge again shalom.
