What I like about the Deep Impact one is you can see rain clouds flash-forming in the sky from all the water vaporised in the impact
@fatitankeris63272 жыл бұрын
Do you know what was the spreading first wave before shockwave in the clouds? It looked kind of way too fast...
@GarlicAvenger2 жыл бұрын
@@fatitankeris6327 The first shockwave is the Impact Shockwave, from the pure kinetic energy of the Impact - the second one is the Explosive Shockwave as whatever material this asteroid is made of is heated to insane temperatures and expands in nanoseconds, while also vaporising the water and minerals and Earths' crust at the site of impact and also superheating the local area's atmosphere and all causing expansion like a nuclear explosion, except magnitudes more powerful. The third one is the Displacement Wave of the water/Earths crust as it ripples from the force from the near instant cavity excavated and material ejected for miles deep into the Ocean and Earth's crust. Also, side note; movies like this tend to forget, that like a Nuclear bomb, there would be a sudden rushing back after the energy dissipates over a larger area and may even cause more destruction than the outwards force, although on this kind of scale, I'm not sure it matters, as no one would around to witness the atmosphere rush back into the void the kinetic energy of the impact created.... Because it seemingly struck within visual range of the oil platforms of the coast of the USA (estimated 100-200miles off the footage, where you only see the top of the Impact event, tilted slightly at an angle, above the Tsunami in the Offshore Rig platform scene..) which tend to be around the edge of the continental shelf, in the Hudson Canyon area of the ocean floor, which is ~80 to ~100 miles from NYC, that means it's worst case scenario as it means it did indeed strike in "deep" water.. as the movie is trying to portray - as in "Deep Impact" meaning MILES deep of Ocean, creating these actually realistic sized waves for NYC, even though to be fair - everything in NYC would already have been instantly flattened by the preceding shockwaves due to NYC's apparent close proximity to the Impact (both through the air and through the "literal rippling of the Earth's crust beneath the city" level of Earthquakes everyone would now be experiencing), and every living thing would be dead and burning - potentially even flash combusted from the pure radiant heat of the "local" (hundreds of miles radius) atmosphere itself heating up "locally" to the Impact.
